    UAU he speaks French very well, is strange to hear an American person another language that isn’t English, dunno they’re like : everybody speaks English, so why we have to study another language. But speaking another laguages is good. Spanish, Italian, French, German are good ones.

    Very impressive. As a french girl I always thought foreign accents really sexy. From a french point of view, this interview was quite fun : his french is quite informal and we are not use to hear someone says words like “mec” at TV news. Even more charming.

    I was really impressed , no offense but most of americans don’t make any effort when they promote overseas , they’re all like ” bonjour comment ça va ” annd … that’s it ! Pretty good accent , you go brad !

    PS : Il est encore plus sexy lorsqu’il parle français héhé !

    What’s so cool is that when he didn’t understand what the reporter was asking him at one point, he didn’t try to bluff his way like he knew. He just responded that he didn’t understand what she meant with her question. Very good, confident and unpretentious.

    French in the United States

    From Wikipedia

    The census response “Cajun” and French-based creole languages are not included

    The French language is spoken as a minority language in the United States. According to year 2000 census figures, 1.6 million Americans over the age of five speak the language at home; making French the fourth most-spoken language in the country, behind English, Spanish, and Chinese (when both the Cantonese and Mandarin dialects are combined).More than 13 million Americans claim some French ancestry

    French-speaking communities have historically been located in southern Louisiana and in northern New England. French is the second most-spoken language in four states: Louisiana, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

    @sillyme:
    hummmm he speaks really well french but no he doesn’t sound like a native at all. He still sounds american, which is normal cause he is…
    I think it’s very very hard to get rid of your native accent.
    But he really does speak french very well.

    @witchy:

    the most important thing is to speak intelligently and not to completely get rid of your accent. Native French people here (United States) speak English very well but with a French accent. We don’t citicise that. That makes you more interesting. Marion Cotillard and Juliette Binoche they speak English pretty well but with an accent that sounds like sirop miel to me.

    Here’s another talking with a sirop miel accent but speaking very well, Olivier Martinez:

    Audrey Says:

    this isn’t the fact that he actually can speak french that impressed me but that, as an American actor he did it during the whole interview, on the French most important channel which is utterly unusual.

    He does have an accent actually (I’m French). But it is true that he looks even sexier when he speaks French :)
