This movie is going to be some SERIOUS crap. Go see Super 8 instead, people. Spare yourelves the agony. You’ll thank me.

  • mars

    looks cheesy bad

  • agreed

    @Mike:

The flick is gonna be a hot mess. A hot 3D mess. Which is even worse.

  • everyone knows

Everyone knows that Orlando Bloom can’t act his way out of a wet paper bag.

  • mayfrayn

Orlando Bloom sucks coq! I hate him because he won’t love me.

  • JC

Lame. It looks like they made The Pirates of the Caribbean with no budget. Definitely no money left for a good poster.

  • Elena D’Acierno

    I AM ORLANDO BLOOMS SUPPORTER!

  • Celia

Logan looks so weird with long hair. I hope it doesn’t suck.

  • andy

That whole “put a sword in Orlando bloom’s hand and make a billion dollars” thang doesn’t actually work unless Johnny Depp is in the movie. For an example of this, see Kingdom of Heaven. It was a Ridley Scott movie and Orlando made it suck. It sucked loud and hard.

  • JC

    @andy:

He destroyed a Cameron Crowe movie too. Cameron Crowe never makes a bad movie ( Personally I like Vanilla Sky) then Bloom came along and made Elizabethtown his worst movie.

  • stee-low-flow

Re-makes…re-makes…re-makes. Are there no original ideas for movies anymore can’t say the last time I paid to see the crap on the big crap.

The best scripts are on HBO anyway….Game of Thrones…RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • andy

    @JC:

What sucks about the most about Elizabethtown is that Crowe is a genius with characters like the one Bloom played in that film. Lloyd Dobbler in Say Anything comes to mind. With the right actor, E-town could have been just as brilliant. Bloom is NOT the right actor. For anything. And it’s sad because Crowe hasn’t done anything since. Bloom was been the downfall of otherwise godlike directors. That is how bad he sucks.

  • xd

logan lerman looks rather feminine with his hair like that.

  • LOL!

    Sockpuppets!!!
I see that the delphidiots have been hard at work.
They’re just mad that even though Orlando is playing a supporting role, his image IS THE LARGEST IMAGE ON THE POSTER!!! Proving them wrong ONCE AGAIN!!!
You people really have gone over the edge. Your hatred has consumed your lives. You need help. SERIOUS help.
‘Andy”, aka ‘Mike’, aka Delphidiot Supreme, you get more ridicuous and pathetic every day.
You sure make it easy to laugh at you.

  • @LOL!

    Are you retarded?

  • @andy/mike

    What?
Kingdom of Heaven got great reviews! And Orlando received a lot of praise for his performance, especially in the directors cut.
It also made over 200 milion.
At least base your insults in fact. Otherwise youcome across as just a bitter hater who doesn’t think before speaking.

  • I’m watching you

    *rolls eyes at the delphiidiots*

  • hmmm

Orlando is a supporting player, yet they seem to be focusing a lot of their promotion around him
I guess we know who the big draw is for the film.

  • @mike

So you want us to wait until October to see Super 8?
Suggesting that we choose between the films, when one comes out in a few days, and the other in several months?
    That’s so stupid.
    That’s so delphi.

  • @andy

Cameron Crowe had run out of ideas and was trying to do something quite experimental. If you read the script of Almost Famous it’s so well-structured, and the script of Elizabethtown is weird and problematic. It doesn’t have a normal three-act structure, the character has all this stuff happen to him and remains suicidal right up to the end, the character of Claire is terribly twee, and the shoe recall and the journey box could never happen in real life. All of those problems would have been there whoever was in the film.

But it ends up being uplifting and I find it quite rich, you can go on thinking about it. I’m interested in how it’s all about surviving the Hollywood hype machine although it’s not entirely clear what the answer is.

Cameron Crowe wanted Orlando for the role and had to fight the studio. He seems to have written the film with him in mind; he had him read early versions of the script. He knew exactly how he wanted crucial scenes played and said that Orlando got it exactly (in his diary of filming). If you think a director is God-like, and he decides he wants to use a certain actor, why would you decide you know better than him?

  • well

It’s quite obvious who the studio considers to be the star attraction for this film.
Orlando hasn’t made a big, mainstream movie in four years, yet the studio puts him in the forefront. They know what people want.
Even if the film is cr*p, it will be fun cr*p. And a lot of fun seeing Orlando chew the scenery as a cad.
He was brilliant in Sympathy for Delicious as the arrogant rocker. I can see him doing really well as The Duke.
Bring on the cheese, I don’t care. As long as I get to see Orlando on the big creen again!
    I can’t wait!!!

  • @LOL!

How does the size of his head on a poster prove anything other than his publicist threw a lot of money at the studio? The fact is, Orlando can’t act. That’s why his movies tank. POTC and LOTR don’t count because other, actually talented actors carried him.

@18 On what planet did KOH get good reviews? Planet Shipper? Don’t rewrite history through rose colored shipper glasses.

  • @24

    What?
You think that publicist has enough money to influence a major studio about how it markets a big budget film???
    LOLOLOL!!
That has to be the dumbest, and most desperate angle that any delphite has taken.
Come on. Try to retain a little dignity. You are wrong. Accept it.
And again, please look upi the word ‘fact’. Your opinions are NOT facts. Not by a long shot. Especially when they are colored by our irrational hatred and bitterness.
And 200 million is “tanking”? Wow. You could have fooled me.

  • @LOL!

“Cinema’s least potent leading man, Orlando Bloom, stinks up the screen in Ridley Scott’s unsatisfying “epic” about the Crusades…”

“Considerably more ambitious and significantly less satisfying than Gladiator.”

“Since we barely know what’s at stake — we’re too confused and bored to care — all this fighting means nothing to us, and yet Scott still hopes to rev us up with it.”

These are reviews from top critcs about KOH.

Let’s not forget all of the reviewers that called him wooden and too feminine for the role.

  • Look Alike

Is it me or does Logan look like Jennifer Aniston in that poster.

  • @26

    Two can play that game….
Roger Ebert – “”Kingdom of Heaven” is better than “Gladiator” — deeper, more thoughtful, more about human motivation and less about action”
Todd Gilchrist, IGN Movies – (the director’s cut) “film which by all rights should have been Bloom’s coming out as a leading-man (emphasis on man), the greater accomplishment than restoring his evolution as an actor is the affirmation of Scott’s authority as an auteur, and the reminder that directors do indeed sometimes (frequently, in fact) have a vision for their film that extends beyond the first week of its release”
Stephen Hunter, Washington Post – “Is Orlando Bloom enough of a star to sustain a $100 million costume drama? The answer turns out to be yes”
Kurt Loder, MTV – “The movie is distinguished by the uniform excellence of its actors … Orlando Bloom, in particular … gives a performance of striking stillness and reserve …”
Sean Means, Salt Lake Tribune – “[The battle] scenes may get the blood going, but it’s Bloom’s quiet steeliness that gives Kingdom of Heaven its heart.”
    etc., etc., etc.

  • Dani

    I love Logan Lerman.

  • fun

@well: like the pirates movies. they were utter crap, but a fun pirety rompus. i hope this will be like that :D no one wants an Oscar all the time, sometime only fun trip to the movies with your friends~

  • 12

I would go see this movie, he seems to be a big fat delusion and that’s what I wound, of course if you go in expecting to see a transcript of the truth you will not like but For others it’s all good (and then when Tarantino appropriates this story, everyone is crying cult film even before its release, then I do the same)

  • tempo

@andy: Bloom is great in Kingdom of Heaven and in Elizabethtown too. Only a totally ignorant on acting person or just a really low standards hater can’t and don’t want to see that. Your problem.
As for the comments about Depp that someone mentioned – ROTFL! Check Depp’s Box Office BEFORE Pirates – he was called a BO poison. Check his Tourist BO. Etc., etc. He got REALLY lucky with POTC and he admitted so himself. POTC were great because of the big team work. Storng actors like Bloom, Rush, Nighy, Davenport helped Depp with their strong acting. He needs the strong actors and the director to lead the way. On Stranger Tides is a compete rubbish. And Depp proved once again that he can’t carry hte movie on his own. Especially with the weak actors around.
The Three Musketeers probably would be the usual mess that Hollywood always does out of Dumas. But I will watch it becasue I enjoy Bloom’s acting. BTW, he is not going to use the sword this time and that is a HUGE pity. The guy is stunnigly great with the sword. Anderson shouldn’t have wasted Bloom’s true talent and amazing skills on that field.

  • The “leading man?” debate

I would just like to add that David Poland and Leonard Maltin both liked him in KOH (David Poland still champions him and thinks he has star quality) and James Cameron-Wilson loved Elizabethtown, gave it 7 stars, and praised him and Kirsten.

These aren’t ignorant fangirls. Even if they are in the minority, their opinions are valid and I think a positive review that is knowledgeable and explains itself carries more weight than someone saying “he sucks and the film sucks”.

Anyway, all this is somewhat irrevelant because Orlando is not playing the lead in this film. So anyone saying the film won’t work because Johnny Depp isn’t in it is quite ignorant. That is to ignore that it has Christoph Waltz playing a swordfighting villain, which would certainly make up for a lack of Depp. (I’m not sure whether Orlando is going to be good in his role or not. He doesn’t seem to exactly have a menacing presence, but he is capable of being dangerous, or quite creepy, and he’s funny when he plays arrogant characters).

  • YES!

This sounds like such a fun ride!
I can’t wait to see Orlando play the bad guy! He looks so gorgeous in the preview!
And I think that if Logan plays his cards right, he will be the next big thing. He’s handsome, a good actor, and he seems like a nice young man. I’d watch him over Robert Pattinson any day!

  • @22

    Wow!
Roger Ebert and Leonard Maltin live on Planet Shipper?
    Who’d have thunk it?
And I’d rather look at the world through rose colored glasses, than p*ss colored ones, any day
That’s your problem. You hate your life, so you want everyone else to be as miserable a failure as you.

Yes stee-low-flow @ Nowdays American productions make just remake. My dream was to be a screenwriter. Once I met at a Film Festival a Famous American Producer and I asked him if I could give him my script. He told me that he doesn’t accept scripts. and this is the reason. they prefer to make remake of great movie, so that they are sure it will be a blockbuster then invest in new ideas!

  • YAY!

According to twitter, Orlando had his first costume fitting for Lola Versus!
It is supposed to start filming next week in NY. Maybe we will get some on set pics!!!

Logan totally makes that wig work. ;)

The movie was actually quite good – they couldn’t have chosen better actors for the 3 (4) Musketeers! Orlando being an evil guy with a beard may not have exactly worked for him though….
