Chris Evans wears Gucci on the cover of GQ magazine’s July 2011 issue.
Here’s what the 29-year-old Captain America star had to share with the mag:
On getting over his initial reluctance to take on the role of Captain America: “I said no a bunch, and every time I said no, I woke up the next morning so happy and content. I kept saying no; they kept coming back. And eventually I was like, ‘You know what? This is your biggest fear—this is exactly what you have to do.’”
On his character in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: “The character’s supposed to be this horrible actor and a d—–bag, and I get the job and so many people were like, ‘You’re perfect, you’re gonna crush it!’ ” he continued with feigned anger. “I was like, So I got this role as an a–hole actor, and you guys think I nailed it? That I’m a natural and that nobody in town can do it better?”
On how seeing sunsets are the “happiest” times in his life: “The point is that when I see a sunset or a waterfall or something, for a split second it’s so great, because for a little bit I’m out of my brain, and it’s got nothing to do with me. I’m not trying to figure it out, you know what I mean? And I wonder if I can somehow find a way to maintain that mind stillness.”

he doesn’t seem like an *sshole to me at all. but he also doesnt seem like he has much depth either, at least acting-wise. he’s like just a step above that stripper guy.. whatshisname.. channing tatum.

Sad, that doesn’t look like him AT ALL. It is too photo-shopped.
And the interview on GQ’s site was very weird. Like the reporter was writing a “dear diary” entry or something – yikes! Not a good (or well-written) interview at all, but interesting nonetheless.
I still love Chris, though. He is going to be fantastic as the Captain!

He comes across as a sweet and generous guy. I love that he still hangs with his highschool friends. That should keep his feet on the ground. Got to say I feel disappointed that he’d go to a place like Voyeur. Each to his own but it’s just a glorified strip joint and totally demeaning to woman. Also that after a few drinks he’s got his hands all over a woman. Let’s be honest he gets away with it because he’s a famous, gorgeous guy. If it was anyone else you’d call it sexual harrassment.
So I still love him but he’s got a crap attitude to women.
He definitely seems like a lovely guy. Kinda dumn, pretty shallow, totally sexist without realising it, bit racist (or was that really just a joke?) But very big hearted, kind and considerate.
He seriously needs to control his drinking though. I’ve been following his career a while and heavy drinking and the stupid things he says and does when he drinks will be his downfall – mark my words.
Loved the article though.
I’ve met him socially a couple of times and he’s the nicest guy on the planet. He’d give you the shirt off his back and doesn’t have an arrogant bone in his body.
@ Griff That made me think. He’s absolutely not sexist but after a beer or three he’s very ‘wandering hands’ with any girl he’s talking to. Most love it – obviously. But I do remember drying the eyes of an inconsolable girl when she realized he didn’t want to date her – he does it to all the girls. And another who was furious in an ‘oh-my-god-who-the –fck-does-he-think-he-is’ way. He’d be mortified to know about this I guess.
But that’s how the Agron/Greene etc rumours get going – he looks as if he’s making out with whichever girl he’s talking to when he’s drunkish. He’s not the only person to be a bit of a jerk when he’s drinking.
But apart from that he really is pretty wonderful.
I met him once and loved him. Funny, modest and kind. Not a girl so didn’t encounter any wandering hands!!
