True Blood stars Alexander Skarsgard and Anna Paquin reinterpret the classic Grant Wood painting American Gothic on the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, on newsstands Friday (June 24).
Also with Anna on collectible covers are Stephen Moyer and Joe Manganiello!
Here’s what the True Blood stars had to share with the mag:
Anna, on Sookie’s attraction to three men: “There’s yearning and longing, lust and protection from those three relationships. And it’s very difficult for her to choose, and she doesn’t want to choose, either.”
Alexander, on why he likes the show to differ from the True Blood books:“You want fans of the books who’ve read them a million times to still be surprised when they watch the show. We can’t be like, ‘Oh, well, now this is going to happen, and now this is going to happen, and here’s that.’ It’s important to keep it fresh.”
Creator Alan Ball, on being proud of the series: “One of my favorite things I’ve heard is how one of our former assistant directors was visiting her college girlfriends in Texas and one of their husbands came up to say, ‘I just have to thank you for the show because we’re having the best sex we’ve had in years,’ and I’m like, ‘Good! That’s good!’”

Ok, Joe is a good looking guy but all the hair they photoshopped on his arms and hands is totally gross! Plus, why isn’t he wearing a jacket and glasses like the other two guys?
This show is like Burger with chips, ketchup and coca-cola. Easy and greasy.

Alex looks really good with glasses! And love the touch of the pitchfork being bloody in the Eric and Bill ones.
As for looking like she wants Eric – she’s standing closer to Alex than she is the other two guys.
And it also cracks me up that Anna (5’5) likely had to stand on a crate in the Joe (6’5) and Alex (6’4 1/2) ones to make it look like Stephen (5’10) is the same height as them.

Talking about glasses; that alex looks good with it, one know this since one could see the first pics of him with shades…but the other sort of suits him well too.
I can’t wait for season 4, because DttW was my favourite and I’m looking forward to see alex as amnesia-eric, of course! And the sookie/eric scenes in general…hope AB has had a little mercy with the (book-)fans this time…;)
…and what’s with laffy and jesus, jess and hoyt, pam….arrgh, waiting sucks, really! ;))
