I don’t think anyone in the band would appreciate your “Chris Martin and Coldplay” description!
In fact, I think it would really p!ss them off.
If anything, it should have been written, “Chris Martin and the rest of Coldplay…”
It’s a huge distinction in meaning- especially to a band.
