Brad Pitt Talks Marriage Equality

Brad Pitt is glad to hear that states are supporting marriage equality laws – and now he’s speaking out about New York’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage.

“It is encouraging that New York has joined the movement to grant equal marriage rights to its citizens. But it is each American’s Constitutional right to marry the person they love, no matter what state they inhabit,” Brad, 47, told People exclusively.

“No state should decide who can marry and who cannot. Thanks to the tireless work of so many, someday soon this discrimination will end and every American will be able to enjoy their equal right to marriage,” Brad concluded.

Brad‘s previously said that he and partner Angelina Jolie would not marry until all couples can be legally wed.

    what a joke Says:

yeah , because we really need to hear from someone who won’t/and or can’t convince the person he made kids with to marry him. His opinion means ZILCH when you look at his history. does he also believe adults should marry children ? He did date a child when he was 27 if he doesn’t remember.

    to missy Says:

no law saying YOU cant go out and adopt some kids, help the needy, do something for others. Stop telling someone who does many selfless things, what to do. AND obviously a lot of people DO care since he is being asked his opinion. Are you jealous no one gives a fcuk what your opinion is of ANYTHING?

    Thought so.

plus, he nullified his gay marriage claim when he said he’s needing to think about it now that his kids are talking more about it. He throws gays under the bus for his kids. or was he just using his kids for attention?

Yeah the name changing twits are here.

Brad is stating his opinion. Not telling anyone else to think or feel the same. And obviously you the twit cares because you have once again parked you dum as* here to post the same silly crap you do on every thread.

Hope you are getting paid because otherwise what use are you to the world at large.

And he is right. Marriage should be legal regardless of the state you live in. It needs to be whoever wants to. I am not against marriage for anyone. It is a commitment that everyone should have the right to. And those who are heterosexual are not making it a perfect thing by the way. Lots of divorces, and such. YEAH that make is perfect for non-gays because they have made such a success of it.

I think gays should be able to marry in order to have the same rights as everyone regarding pensions, taking care of loved ones. How many gay men/women have been thrown out of hospitals and lost homes and such because they had no legal rights.

IT’s time. If you don’t like it then don’t marry a gay person. And besides it will hurt no one.

I bet 27 year old Brad PItt wanted to marry 16 year old Juliette Lewis. Oh How I wish that had happened. Brad don’t worry a 56 year old actor just married a 16 year old country star… you can do it too. We believe in you. Brad pitt for president. – signed perverts of America.

    @what a joke:

    Actually what he said was:

The kids ask about marriage. It’s meaning more and more to them. So it’s something we’ve got to look at.

In no way does this throw gays under the bus. It just means the kids are asking about it and they are mulling over what to do.

Since neither you nor I nor anyone else is privy to what they decide, talk about etc. in the privacy of their home–you don’t know and I don’t know what the rest of this conversation is about.

    Lucky Charm Says:

I agree that the state should not decide who is able to legally marry based on who your bedroom partner is. Two consenting adults making a legally binding contract of marriage should not have to be denied because of the sex of your partner. I agree that each church should be able to freely decide who they will or will not marry, but not everyone wants a church wedding anyway. Marriage is a legal contract, and to divorce or legally separate, you have to go to court, you can’t just go back to the priest or minister who married you and say that you want them to un-marry you. I wish that all 50 states would recognize marriage equality and not make the big deal of it that they currently are. It should not matter if X+X, X+Y or Y+Y get married, as long as they are both single, consenting adults.

And frankly, if anyone feels that two people of the same sex getting married would somehow harm or hurt their own marriage, then that marriage was already in trouble and nothing to do with a same-sex couple’s marriage. Why should I be concerned about an effect on my marriage if the two guys down the street get married? Meanwhile, the hetero couple next door are preserving the sanctity of marriage while her third husband beats her and openly cheats on her? Yeah, that makes so much sense….
