Casey Anthony: Not Guilty of Murder, Manslaughter, Child Abuse
Casey Anthony was declared not guilty on charges of first degree murder, manslaughter, and aggravated child abuse after a jury delivered their verdict on Tuesday (July 5) in Orange County, Florida.
The 25-year-old mother of Caylee Anthony was accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter after Caylee went missing back in 2008. Casey did not report Caylee as being missing to law enforcement until 31 days after her disappearance.
Casey‘s case was up for the death penalty if the jury had found her guilty of murder.
Although she was cleared of the most serious charges, Casey was found guilty of four counts of lying to law enforcement.
