Daniel Craig Covers 'Esquire' August 2011

Daniel Craig covers Esquire magazine’s August 2011 issue, on newsstands Tuesday (July 12).

Here’s what the 43-year-old Cowboys & Aliens – and newly married – actor had to share:

On constantly being associated with James Bond: “This has become my way, it’s as simple as that. I mean, since I’ve just become James Bond. And I think, you know, that means being something that people feel they own. And all of the sudden I’m getting magazine covers, when I got nothing for ten years before that. I say it’s just pure luck. And doing covers, people interviewing me, and they want to know everything and I’m going, I’m not gonna f—ing tell you!”

On The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: “It’s as adult as you can possibly make it. This is adult drama. I grew up, as we f—ing all did, watching The Godfather and that, movies that were made for adults. And this is a $100 million R-rated movie. Nobody makes those anymore. And [director David Fincher], he’s not holding back. They’ve given him free rein. He showed me some scenes recently, and my hand was over my mouth, going, Are you f—ing serious?”

Thank you for the most stupid post since months. They are not happy why they don’t smile in your book. Okay how can I explain it to you in a nice way –> They don’t smile because there is a f***ing paparazzi. You can even see they knew it before they came out. When stars don’t smile it’s harder for the paparazzo to sell their pictures.
You can’t hide that you are just another hater because you reveal yourself in the last paragraph.

(VIDEO) New “Tintin” Trailer Goes Online

A new full-length UK trailer for Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” has gone online. The video quality isn’t the greatest, but the trailer itself provides more story details, a few bits of humor, and there’s no hiding of the faces this time as all the characters get action shots and dialogue.

The design is decidedly ‘more stylised’ than the first trailer let on – meaning the humans aren’t trying to look ‘too human’ which makes it less creepy. As a trailer it’s definitely a more straight forward one than the all too vague teaser, some of the gags are fine while others fall dead flat (oddly the Thompson twin ones). The target audience seems to be skewing younger than the books do, making this a bit more akin to the old cartoons, but some of the action shots are really nicely done (especially the second last with Tintin sliding across a boat deck). Serkis as Haddock certainly looks like he’ll steal the show.

There’s some major story changes from the books though. ‘The Crab with the Golden Claws’ elements are being incorporated in an unusual way with the more straight forward ‘The Secret of the Unicorn’ stuff. There’s nothing essentially from the ‘Red Rackham’s Treasure’ storyline on display which makes one think it’ll be mostly ignored (the cast list makes no mention of Prof. Calculus as a character for example).

Most notably is that the Red Rackham character (Daniel Craig) is completely different from the books – turning what was a minor flashback pirate character into the film’s present-era antagonist, essentially adding a villain to a story that didn’t really have one.

Nah, your caption is hotter :)
Of course, Daniel is still sexy tho…

Man Candy Mondays: Daniel Craig We Have A Fetish For “Bond”-Age
He’s the first blond James Bond, and what a bombshell he is! But you don’t have to wait until the newest Bond film comes out in late 2012 to feast your eyes on the fine male specimen that is Daniel Craig. Just round up your posse and mosey on over to your local movie theater to watch him work his onscreen magic in Cowboys and Aliens (out in theaters July 29).

    Daniel Craig
    Born: March 2, 1968
    Hometown: Cheshire, England
    Height: 5’10″

    Why we love Daniel Craig

There’s no man on Earth sexier than James Bond, and watching blond-haired, blue-eyed hottie Daniel Craig bring him to life is like a crime-novel fangirl’s fantasy come true.
He’s hard as a rock — yet easy on the eyes
Those steely blue eyes look right through us every time we see him on the big screen — and we haven’t even mentioned his syrupy British accent’s effect on our ears. But let’s focus on Craig’s finely chiseled physique. He was ripped as can be in his first 007 foray, Casino Royale, but for his next Bond film, Quantum of Solace, he upped the ante:

“I needed to get as fit as I possibly could,” Craig told the British press. “Although I was big and muscled last time, I was actually not as fit as I am now.”

    We’re definitely not complaining, Daniel!

Check out the workout that Craig followed in Men’s Health. Would it be rude to clip this out and put it on our boyfriend’s refrigerator?

    He’s the quiet type
Don’t get us wrong — we love boisterous movie stars (Gerard Butler comes to mind), but there’s something to be said for a guy who sits back and observes instead of making headlines. In dating mostly under-the-radar film professionals for long stretches at a time, Craig has largely stayed out of the tabloids — and we kind of like that.

Plus, his cool façade works for his character. Craig once told Parade that James Bond is the kind of guy who should keep you guessing: “The question I keep asking myself while playing the role is, ‘Am I the good guy or just a bad guy who works for the good side?’ Bond’s role, after all, is that of an assassin when you come down to it. I have never played a role in which someone’s dark side shouldn’t be explored. I don’t think it should be confusing by the end of the movie, but during the movie you should be questioning who he is.”

We’re happy to contemplate your countenance as long as you’d like, Daniel!

    He’s a thespian
We couldn’t have picked a hotter theater co-star for Craig: In 2009 he grew a mustache and played a cop alongside Hugh Jackman in the Broadway play A Steady Rain. His stage appearance hearkened back to his very early career, during which he appeared in the play Angels in America in London back in 1993.

    Daniel Craig’s
    relationship status:
Hands off, ladies: Craig is a newly married man. He secretly wed fellow actor Rachel Weisz, 41, late last month. Only four people attended the ceremony, including Craig’s daughter and Weisz’s son. Might we add… Three cheers for age-appropriateness! Frankly, though, Weisz’s radiant beauty transcends age. Congratulations, Daniel and Rachel!

i was wondering when you’d show up again. haven’t changed much have you. let’s see, all of your predictions concerning C&A, and Dragon Tattoo were wrong. Dream House is coming out in September, whether you personally approve or not. so, what’s left? wait, Daniel has gone and married Rachel without your permission. so, therefore, the marriage doesn’t exist.

as for body language, Gina, i work part time in an ER where there are psychiatrists who are more than experts on the subject; they have to be. in their spare time they’ve taught me a few things. so, trust me on this, you don’t want to go there anymore. as for this secret marriage that Daniel supposedly had with Satsuki where is the link? where is the proof.

Sadly no, but will go Thursday night. Can’t wait!!!

    @Thank God!!:
“Daniel and Rachel will last forever because Gina predicted they will not last.”
Well, if you remember correctly, I predicted that Daniel dumps Satsuki and meets a different woman? Who believed? Nobody. Now you can see that Satsuki cries in lap of her father in Oregon and Daniel holds hands with Racheleyebrows. Thank God? Who knows.
Hmmm, ermmm. have a good day.

    links via Google, baby.

another secret marriage that Daniel supposedly had with Rachel via People magazine and other tabloid magazine, althought no official statement from ‘real PR’s’ of both actors.

let’s see, all of your predictions concerning C&A, and Dragon Tattoo were wrong. Dream House is coming out in September, whether you personally approve or not. so, what’s left?
wait first, who says I am wrong regarding Dragon Tattoo, C&A and Cowboys&Aliens? I gave Fincher time until August to finish completely all scenes. I read he’s still working on Dragon Tattoo and hope he finishes it next month and wraps it finally.
C&A, to me, will bomb at the box office. plenty time to find it.
Dream House – hope they just right prepared DVD’s and cover already. Maybe, I buy it on Amazon or ebay.

  13. 138
    to 136 aka Gina Says:

No, you did not predict it. When Satsuki was not around Daniel last summer, you said she came back and jumped at Daniel soon. Then when we heard Daniel was going out with Rachel, you claimed Daniel got back with Satsuki for shooting Bond 23. Everyone knows you are suffering amnesia about particular things that is very convenient for the person who cannot remember.

  14. 139
    to 137 aka Gina Says:

I wonder why you are not so sensible. There is a marked difference between them. As for Satsuki’s case, his people denied the marriage in gossip cop. It was the made up story by Satsuki’s people. This time, the Daniel and Rachel’s marriage, the ‘real PR’s’ of both actors issued statement OFFICIALLY!! Can you see the difference?

  15. 140
    to 137 aka Gina Says:

Daniel married with Satsuki ー His people denied it.
”A source close to Craig assures Gossip Cop the actor and Mitchell are “not married.””
This time, his publicist, pretty famous publicist Robin Baun, revealed his marriage.
”Publicist Robin Baun, representing the James Bond actor, confirmed the pair had married, but did not offer any details.”

  16. 141

Dream House will be released in September at a movie theater. Because MPAA upholds R-rating for release in a theater.

The film from Universal stars Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz and will be released in September. Here’s the MPAA release:

LOS ANGELES — The Classification and Rating Appeals Board today upheld the R rating given to the movie Dream House. The Classification and Rating Administration (CARA) had assigned the movie the R rating for “some violence.”

In the appeal brought by Morgan Creek Productions, the Appeals Board heard statements on behalf of Dream House from Andy Fraser, Vice President, Physical & Post Production for Morgan Creek Productions, and Greig McRitchie, Executive Vice President Feature Post Production for Universal City Studios. The Classification and Rating Administration was represented by Chairman Joan Graves.

The problem with the new Tintin film: we don’t even get to see Daniel Craig in a leotard

A new trailer has been released for Steven Spielberg’s Tintin movie, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. The film, starring Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, has been shot in motion capture – or, if you want to be down with the geeks, “mo-cap”. This is where real actors are filmed with ACCs (Awfully Clever Cameras), then their movements translated by computer to produce what looks like an animated film. It does make for very realistic animation – but I don’t think it should be done with famous actors.

If Daniel Craig’s playing a part (here it’s Red Rackham, a pirate), then I want to see Daniel Craig playing that part. Every woman I have ever met who has expressed an opinion on Daniel Craig would agree with me. He has charisma, charm, the magic star quality that makes you want to look at him. So why go to the bother of filming that star quality, then covering it up with lots of techno-wizardry?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying animation is wrong, or that mo-cap doesn’t work. As you can see in the trailer, the results are stunning. The movements of Thomson and Thompson (yes, they really are spelt differently) are particularly funny. I’m not even saying that famous actors shouldn’t provide the voices for animated characters. Toy Story wouldn’t be as brilliant as it is if Tom Hanks wasn’t Woody.

Where technology does disappear up its own hard-drive, though, is where the actors performing the mo-cap movements are A-list stars rather than anonymous nobodies. We nearly get to see Daniel Craig, but not quite. What could be more frustrating than that? The process even holds frustrations for the star himself. Filming required Craig to dress in a leotard and have a camera strapped to his head. “It’s Steven Spielberg,” he said, “so every f—er in the world comes to visit. Clint f—ing Eastwood comes to visit. It was just like, are you kidding me? I’m gonna meet these people dressed like this? Playing a pirate, wearing a leotard and a camera? Really?”

We’re with you, Daniel. You don’t want Clint to see you like that. We don’t want to be prevented from seeing you full stop. We certainly don’t want to imagine you in a leotard. Actually, given the opinions expressed by those women I mentioned, maybe some of them do.

Gina, try to understand this. there was no secret marriage between Daniel and Satsuki ever. it was just another one story planted in the press by someone who wanted to pressure Daniel into marrying the girl. that relationship is over, finished, done with. Whether you like it or not, Daniel is married to Rachel. your refusal to believe does not take away from the truth.

i’ve often wondered this. why are you incapable of accepting that Daniel has chosen to work on film projects other than James Bond? did you honestly think he was going to sit at home doing no projects until he got the call to report to the Bond set. oh wait, you’re upset that Daniel chose projects that you personally don’t like. are you that stupid!!
