Sarah Jessica Parker Covers 'Vogue' August 2011

Sarah Jessica Parker covers Vogue‘s August 2011 issue.

Here’s what the 46-year-old I Don’t Know How She Does It actress, who wore Burberry for the shoot, had to share:

On her Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw: “Bradshaw’s life is nothing – nothing – like mine. I loved playing her, and it changed my life in lots of wonderful ways, but I’m not a crazy shoe lady, I don’t think about fashion all day long, although I have a great respect for the industry. Every choice we’ve made has been different, but with Kate I really understood the attempt at a life.”

On her love of fashion: “I love the opportunity to wear something really special and go to a wonderful event at some great cultural institution. Not to sound too Pollyanna about it, but I really didn’t imagine when I was a little girl that I would be there to see it all myself.”

On her work ethic: “It’s kind of all I’ve known. I’m a bitter-ender. It’s potentially my fatal flaw that I do not give up on something. I will not rest. I work and work and work until I can no longer and someone has to remove me from the premises.”

she’s so warm and bubbly, that is her appeal. She just makes me smile. Not everyone has to be some extremely beautiful sex symbol. I think its so mean when ppl call her names. I definitely see 1000 times worse every second in my real life, lol. She seems so lovely! xoxo

I really like SJP but that is an awful lot of photoshop. Why can’t magazines just take it down a notch with all the retouching.
Nevertheless, she looks lovely as always.

I can’t imagine meeting her. I will just cry. I also think she’s one of the few women…and ver few that have both an extremely successful TV and movie career. I still love in “Honeymoon in Vegas”.

She looks great. Her family is so cute.

  • KC

I love the photo of her and her husband. They should have that framed and on display in their home.

What ever happened to Vogue’s edginess in cover girls?

Always loved her. But met her once while she was filming SATC the movie and didn’t want to sign an autograph for a group of 5 people… not cool…

  • jula

Love her and I seriously don’t think she is bad looking at all like some make her out to be. seriously. If you saw someone like her in real life she would catch your eye, don’t even lie. Love her perfect little curvy body. Was always so envious of it on SATC, LOL. she is tiny but has curves in all the right places.

Interesting case study. Prettiness or beautifulness often do not go hand in hand with being photogenic. Sarah is photogenic. But no beauty.

  • Jane

Photoshop much? Why can’t the magazine make her look real? She has wrinkles. Show them.

Finally… a Vogue issue this year that is satisfying. Glad to see some
one who actually understands and respects fashion on the cover. She
is a true fashion icon and talented individual. Not the young hollywood
twits that think putting on a Chanel dress, makes them elegant. As Coco
Chanel once said “Class and elegance requires more than putting on
a new dress”. A true and honest testament. Thank you Anna and every
one at Vogue US for showcasing a beautiful fashion icon in her
    beautifully fashionable life.
