Ryan Reynolds: Helping the Homeless in Vancouver!

Ryan Reynolds takes his motorcycle for a spin around town on Saturday (July 16) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 34-year-old Green Lantern actor wore a pair of dark shades and, of course, a helmet for safety!

Earlier this week, Ryan made a special visit to the Covenant House, a homeless shelter in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada.

“He called last week and asked if he could come in…He used to walk by all the time and wanted to learn more about us. To have someone that famous come in and take an interest is fantastic,” said Michelle Clausius, a representative for the organization.

I hope “taking an interest” extended to providing some financial help instead of merely coming to look around.

  • roxy

Hopefully looking around and taking an interest extended to providing some much needed financial help!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow you guys fell for that?

LOL. Why did the organisation have to tell someone? Gees. Why can’t the dude visit a homeless shelter and not let the whole world know about it.

  • Why tell people?

I cringe when I hear about celebrities who have no track record of active philanthropy when they were nobodies, just all of a sudden find it when they’re career has taken off.

As opposed to someone like Rooney Mara who founded a charity when she was a complete nobody.

some of the comments are strange: I think most actors are involved in charitable causes. However the organizations also know that the ones with famous names will draw more interest so, naturally, you hear more about the actor’s involvement once they become famous.

Ryan went to Malawi in 2007 to help build an orphanage. He wasn’t as famous as he is now but I am sure that their was press about that, too. Fame or not, most human beings will be involved in charitable causes. However, the additional press that comes with a famous person’s support only helps the cause; it certainly doesn’t hurt it.

Ryan Reynolds is the worst actor ever. He is a crap motorbike rider (i’ve ridden beside him before), and an asshole for dumping Alanis Morissette for that floozy Scarlett. Good on Scarlett for dumping his ass too!
