Ashton Kutcher: 'Two and a Half Men' Curtain Call!

Ashton Kutcher takes a bow with co-star Angus T. Jones on the set of Two and a Half Men on Friday (August 4) in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old actor, also pictured with cast mates Marin Hinkle, Jon Cryer, Holland Taylor, and Conchata Ferrell, taped his first episode as the new star of the CBS sitcom.

Ashton will be playing Walden Schmidt, an Internet billionaire with a broken heart who buys the Malibu bachelor pad once owned by Charlie Sheen‘s character, Charlie Harper.

Two and a Half Men‘s ninth season premieres Monday, Sept. 19, and will reportedly open with Charlie‘s funeral.

I wish people would stop calling Ashton the “star of the show”. John Cryer has won emmy’s! And Angus is sooo funny. They are the stars. Ashton is a stand-in with no talent who got the break of his life.

Ashton needs a shave and a haircut pronto! He’s getting too old for the surf bum look.

I’ll probably check out the first epiosde. But, to be honest Charlie was the star. Allan (Jon Cryer) was also the star but I put up with him because Charllie was so great. Allan got on my nerves too much. Angus, he was funny too. As for Ashton, sorry I have never found him funny. To me he like Allan…freakin annoying. This show is really going to have to impress alot of people. Can’t see it lasting more then 1 season. Most people loved the show because of Charlie…hope he gets another show.

I hope he meets a young hot extra on the set and dumps his fake wife for her..

@chelsey:

You are spot on. Charlie –made the show. The episode where Charlie reluctantly started writing kiddie jingles was hilarious.

That producer guy–Lorre–is mistaken if thinks Sheen is replaceable.
He was the axis of the show.

He was talented enough for Micahel J. Fox to recommend as his replacement when he left Spin City…and Sheen was funny enough on that as well.

I will watch any Sheen project —not this.

The only thing I’ve seen him in is That 70′s Show. The character was annoying. Don’t know if he can do anymore than that. What I do know that despite being a major douche, Charlie Sheen was made for his part on Two and a Half Men and played so well off the other actors. I know this guy isn’t playing that part, but it would take a lot for him to be as entertaining.

I don’t think anyone realistically thinks Sheen is replaceable in this particular series, but the show has to go on; whether it’s a success is anyone’s guess.
