    Age is nothing but a number…I would still have him at any age! He’s gorgeous, and he is obviously still in great shape.

  • GerryLover

    Gerry did a fine job and he looks great!!!

  • GFW

    Okay, he was flushed, sweaty and over-heated no doubt about it but played an hour? Not unusual for a non-professional. He did really well. I’m proud of him.
    -
    He kicked for a goal but missed but had the chance. He ran around blocking and played the game like any focused bloke.
    -
    He was a sport and should be commended. That was fun. Real-time with Gerry! This was so, so cool. He looked good in his outfit and wore No. 23.

    who thinks it’s totally cool Gerry did this for charity wanting to say what a sport

    lets not forgot he is not a professional football player and this is for charity – hope they are not to hard on him.
    Looking great Gerry !!!

  • niknoks

    Great game, loved it. Celtic won 5-2 and most important of all thousands raised for Oxfam’s East Africa Appeal.

  • justsayin’too

    OH NO- he’s looking more like Mathew McConaughey- please NOOOOOOO!

  • LLL

    Well..I guess we can put one rumor to rest….approx. 75 mins on the field. He is very good health!!

  • niknoks

    @LLL:

    To be fair he didn’t do a lot compared to the others, even the celebs, I think he was just fulfilling a boyhood dream, bless him.

  • The Noise In The Walls

    Gerry you looked great :)..You gave it your all!!
    A abit knackered but that’s to be expected after being on the field over 60 minutes..

    Celtic!! What a win!! Bhoys kicked it!!

    in the locker room. Skinny but cut!

  • gerry

    He was pish at playing footie.
    I don’t think this was good PR for his upcoming soccer movie.
    Good cause though, so well done.

  • niknoks

    @The Noise In The Walls:

    Loved the game, I thought United did really well considering we had half the squad Celtic did and far less professionals. Our goalkeeper for the entire 90 minutes was comedian and TV presenter Patrick Kielty.
    -
    Great to see John Hartson and Russell Watson play even for a couple of minutes, both have brain tumours. That’s real commitment and dedication.
    -
    Well done Celtic and particularly to John Kennedy who donated all the funds to Oxfam.

  • LLL

    @niknoks: I am not talking about his skills… that last attempt was sooo wide. It looked like he had no idea where he was on the field..just turned around and booted it. But he was on the move a lot..and that says something for the man. But I defer to you…because I know very little about this type of “football”.

  • sockpuppet

    @gerry: He ran for over an hour, with no chance to train, against retired professionals, and after goin from California, to Italy, to Switzerland, to Scotland, to NYC, to California and back to Scotland, in one month.

    not many could do it . Major props to him…and check out the locker room pic I posted.

  • niknoks

    @LLL:

    His striking skills left a lot to be desired, he did a bit better when they moved him on to the right wing midway through the first half and he had one decent cross to Larsson. He wasn’t that active, think he only crossed the halfway line twice.

    There is zero fat on this man’s body. All lean muscles. At least now we know it’s not all skin and bones underneath the clothes.

  • justsayin’too

    I love muscles on a man, but he is just so darned skinny.

    i thought Gerard Butler looked so unattractive in the game tonight, and he also looked much older than he actually is :/

    Went to Celtic Park, Roy Keane could still play at the top level. Quote of the night: “Taxi for Sparta!”. Gerard Butler was mince.

    Gerard Butler should have started the match by shouting: THIS. IS. PARADISE!!!!

  • The Noise In The Walls

    niknoks :)..Glad you are safe!!! Yes, Great game and Manchester United did play well :)…It was for a great cause!! and Gerry did what he could..I have to say he was impressive staying out on the field that long…

    niknoks – Have a great week..I pray the violence ends soon..

    gerry # 32 – Don’t be hard on Gerry..he isn’t a professional footie player but he’s got a big heart..and he did try to pitch a goal..Overall, he fullfilled a dream..Who gets that chance?..not many ..:)

  • niknoks

    @justsayin’too:

    He has a lot of muscle but his ribs are also showing, you can tell by looking at his torso that he is too skinny for his frame. Not pretty to look at I’m afraid.

  • sockpuppet

    @niknoks: For someone who had NO chance to practice, has been very busy, and traveled more in one month than most travel in a lifetime, I think peeps are bein way too hard. He played against the likes of Larsson (a real nice guy, seems).

    He may have helped bring more money in, since Americans who would never watch the game watched it and maybe donated.

  • niknoks

    @The Noise In The Walls:

    There is a very uneasy calm in London tonight but it’s kicked off big time in my home town of Manchester.

  • sockpuppet

    @ss: Not many coke heads look like this: http://i55.tinypic.com/imrvh2.jpg

  • niknoks

    @sockpuppet:

    He didn’t play against Larsson, he played with him and he wasn’t the only celeb on the pitch there were loads, more than professional players. He’s not very good at football is all I’m saying and he didn’t look very fit, which even the commentators pointed out.
    -
    He did it for charity so good on him…

  • justsayin’too

    niknoks- I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks he is WAY too skinny. It makes him look so harsh in the face. I just wish he wouldn’t go up and down so much with the weight thing because it is a dangerous game you play with your health when you do that.

  • ss

    @sockpuppet: Yeah you just proved my point, it looks like the coke burned off any fat he had left making his muscles look even more defined.

  • sockpuppet

    @Manny:

    Repeat: For someone who had NO chance to practice, has been very busy, and traveled more in one month than most travel in a lifetime, I think peeps are bein way too hard. He played against the likes of Larsson (a real nice guy, seems).
    He may have helped bring more money in, since Americans who would never watch the game watched it and maybe donated.

    Most complain types could not do what he does, and those complainin ab out his playing could not be on such a big ol field for more than hour. Startin to get p…sed off, and I believe in being nice…ha,

    so the sickly smoker ran longer than most here could, with no chance to practice, and peeps spend time and post neg tweets… bunch a f///.ng whiners

  • sockpuppet

    @niknoks: yeah, meant to say played with larsson.

  • LLL

    If I watched more soccer… I am sure I would enjoy it more. The couple of games I’ve seen, I didn’t watch very closely. Yep…shoot me… I went for the socializing. No doubt, you can guess I am an American. Soccer is becoming more and more popular here in the states. I have several friends that are really in to it. It is fun when they get excited about the sport. I wouldn’t consider myself even a novice, I know so little about the game.
