How imaginative. Another “feel good” film about the Civil Rights era with all the blacks as maids and the whites as well whatever they are supposed to be. All with a main white character dictating the story. RIDICULOUS! Poor Viola, she is so much more than a maid. Good actress. Hollywood! And they say they are Liberal and progressive? lol!

Of course Jared leaves out the two “maids” names out of the title: Octavia and Viola. lol! Wow. smh. lol! Yikes. That is cold. Viola: YOU ROCK!

Agree totally–Viola and Octavia deserve to be in the title.

@Step and fetch it: Ok, I’m assuming you haven’t read the book.

viola davis and octavia spencer are incredible actresses not only should they have first billing they should be in the headline!! hollywood thinks everything is about white youth and it’s NOT viola and octavia MAKE this movie

read the book. once again, diffusing the civil rights era by making white characters the focus point. there is a LOT that maids in that era had to deal with – rape, low pay, ,disrespect – that this book nor movie touches on. why not a film also about blacks who were NOT MAIDS???? too much to handle huh?

the help gets left out of the post’s headline. the headline is only for the employers not the help. sad.

Loved the book! Can’t wait to see the movie.
