'The Help' Tops Box Office; 'Apes' Takes Second
Emma Stone‘s The Help took the top spot at the box office this weekend, bringing in an estimated $20.5 million in ticket sales!
The film, which also stars Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis, and Bryce Dallas Howard, bested James Franco‘s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which took in $16.3 million, Variety reports.
Third place went to Jessica Alba‘s Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, with $12 million, followed by Jason Momoa‘s Conan the Barbarian, with $10 million.
Colin Farrell‘s Fright Night took fifth with $8.3 million, and just missing the top five was The Smurfs with $8 million.
Missing the top five was Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess‘ One Day, with a lower than expected turnout of $5.1 million.
