Evan Rachel Wood, Philip Seymour Hoffman, George Clooney, and Marisa Tomei hit the red carpet at the premiere of their new movie, The Ides of March, on Wednesday (August 31) at the Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy.

Evan, 23, wore Alessandra Rich and finished her look with Giuseppe Zanotti heels and Bulgari jewelry.

Marisa chose a mustard gown with a cream rose pearl drape by Marios Schwab, while George suited up in a Giorgio Armani two-button peak lapel midnight blue tuxedo.

Be sure to check out the Ides of March trailer if you haven’t seen it yet!

FYI: The film also stars Ryan Gosling, who didn’t make an appearance, and Paul Giamatti, who’s pictured inside.

Being a film about politics, ‘The Ides Of March’ will be a very important movie.
I don’t understand why actors like Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp don’t do movies like this.

  • Reigert

I always liked Evan Rachel Wood but she is far less attractive with short hair and looks too masculine. I hope she will have long hair again and keep it that way.

  • Mayle

Evan looks very elegant. Marisa, too.

  • runswithbats

They all look fabulous! Can’t wait to see this movie.

  • rascal

Evan Rachel Wood and Marissa Tomei look the same age.

  • hobieluv83

I like her dress, very 1940s.

  • cc

Cindy Crawford is there with her husband supporting George, post her pics Jared! she is stunning.

  • high c

    Wood is fug.

  • Allegra Holden

It is unfortunate that their co-stars Ryan Gosling, Jeffrey Wright and Max Minghella are absent at the Venice Film Festival.

  • pretty in pink

Neither of the ladies dresses are that great. Both their hair and makeup is underwhelming.

  • michelle

People here will say mean things about Evan just to be mean.
I am sure Evan is sad because she’s at Venice with George Clooney instead of dancing naked in a champagne glass at some stupid hollywood party. (Dita’s people need to get over it. )

Wood is an actress, not a celebrity. She looks like an elegant actress.
Marisa Tomei is an actress, not a celebrity and looks like an elegant actress. Clooney looks like he owns Hollywood, and I just love PSH and Paul Giamatti no matter what they wear.

  • Wow!

Isn’t Tomei old enough to be ERW’s mother?

  • Wow!

Wow! She got really old looking.
They do look the same age.

  • Clooney’s Boyfriend was there
  • Mich

@michelle: Nice of you to tell people what to think.

I agree she doesn’t look very good here. That hair cut does her no favors and she doesn’t look elegant at all. She looks low rent as usual.

  • oasis

@Reigert: IA, she’s ugly without long hair.

  • runswithbats

@michelle: True and very well said, Michelle!

  • Alaia

She really does not look old at all, though the short hairdo does not work on her. Having said that, her hair is styled in a way that deceives the eye. It looks like an updo rather than short hair being slicked back which is why I don’t mind her hair here. I hope she does this at the Emmy Awards.

  • twin peaks

@Reigert: Some women have the features to pull off short hair. Emma Watson and Michelle Williams both look great. Evan Wood looks terrible. The style does emphasize how masculine her features are without long hair.

  • No Doubt

@michelle: No, people will give their honest opinion about Evan because this is not a fan site and everyone can give their viewpoint. I’ve never found her pretty. Her acting is highly overrated and she comes across as arrogant in many of her interviews.

She is starting to look old for someone in her early 20s.
If I didn’t know her age, I’d guess her to be around 35-40.

  • Jess

    Love Clooney, Hoffman and Gosling.
The other two not so much.

  • my3cents

I think both women could do much better than this.
Why did Wood chop all her hair off? Bad style for someone with a thick neck and makes her look like a blockhead.

  • Reed

@Wow!: Pretty soon she’ll be playing George Clooney’s mom.

  • mickey

    ERW=ugly chick
    MT=tired old broad

  • hello

Marissa needs to lay off the fake tanner and Evan needs to tone down the bitch face. She always looks like she just finished sucking a lemon.

Why didn’t Gosling attend the premiere?

  • Anna

    @hello:
He is promoting Drive in LA.

  • Rebbeccaaaaaaa
  • Emma

I never saw so many bitchy and rude comments in all my life. Those of you trashing Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei need to GET A LIFE!!! Put down the Toblerone bar and go to the gym, or better yet, get laid so you’ll be happier and stop poisoning the comment thread for the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • essence

@Emma: No one is forcing you to read the comments. If you don’t like them, skip them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  • essence

Fail on both their stylists part. Marissa looks surprisingly matronly.
Is that a fake tan or did she just stay out in the sun too long?

This may be the only time I say this but ERW’s makeup looks too understated although she still manages to look clownish in her close-ups with the overload on fake eyelashes.

  • bae

Marisa looks gorgeous.. and she looks good next to George.. just sayin’

  • Emma

    @essence,

No. Everyone is not entitled to their opinion when it’s nothing but nasty, rotten comments. Constructive criticism is acceptable, but what I read on here is horrible. And I would like to skip them, but they dominate the entire thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • essence

@Emma: You don’t own this site. You don’t get to set the standards and decide what’s acceptable or not. I don’t know why you’re so invested in what’s said here but there are plenty of other blogs where the comments are not as nice.

  • CK

Evan Rachel Woods is not ugly but there’s nothing special about her… she has a very ordinary/mediocre face.

  • michelle

    @Mich:

??? I’m telling people what to think anymore then anybody else here? ???In my opinion…. most of you people act like stupid 14 year olds or of that mentality. People who truly have no idea what it is like to be on any red carpet judging others? You don’t like the hair, fine, don’t like the make up whatever….but. and it’s mostly women cutting down women, snide comments are immature and judgmental.

  • Trinity

@michelle: You do realize you’re on a celebrity gossip blog, right? That’s what people do on places like this…make comments about the appearances and fashions of celebrities on the red carpet. As for women cutting women down, I can’t think of more of a cut down than sneaking behind another woman’s back and fooling around with her husband. And read some of that girl’s interviews. She put her ex-lovers wife down many times in publications where it was sure to get back to the woman. Funny how the name-changing stan fixated on a certain actress never mentions that.

And, yes, that’s one bad hair do. Karma at its finest.

  • janie

I think that they all look great! I love that picture of ERW with her dress billowing around her. STUNNING!!

  • kay69

and Anna, I wonder how come that you are so aware where Ryan Gosling is? I thought you sympathize Paul Giamatti more? :-)

  • @}-;-’—

This is the first I’ve seen these photos as I haven’t been on JJ for weeks.
    Wow!
The red carpet premiere at the VFF was amazing.
George at his finest! The leading ladies having interesting gowns. Cindy C looks great.
George steals the show though :-)
