    Standing ovations are great, but now on to the actual reviews. It’s pins and needles time for the filmmakers.

    @Juliet of the Spirits:
    First few reviews to come through rottentomatoes.com are looking good – no greenage to be seen. Same goes for Coriolanus. This is looking to be a great couple of films for Gerard. Let’s hope the momentum keeps up. This could be the next step up in his career that he, and all his supporters, have been waiting for..

    By the way, this video isn’t the best quality, but I love his earnestness about the role in this short snippet from the TIFF carpet. I’m not sure if anyone’s posted it yet because I can’t seem to keep up with the new threads. Apologies if you’e already seen it. :D

    By the way, I happened upon some short pieces from the soundtrack and the music sounds great – some haunting, some uplifting, some indescribable in the way it gets inside you. Can’t wait to see the parts of the movie for the latter pieces of music. It’s more digital than I would have expected, but I think it should compliment the story really well.

    And do you know the worst part? Australian distributors have not picked it up yet. I’ve just been through all their websites and had a look at their lists. We might not even get to see it over here. I could cry. Damn it. I think I’ll have to fly overseas at the end of the year and hope like hell that it’s on the play list – do you think the hosties would mind periodically stocking me up on Kleenex during the flight? Could be fun for the poor person sitting next to me! :P

    Sorry – I don’t usually post this much in quick succession, but I’ve just listened to the song that Sam himself commissioned regarding his story. It’s by an Australian musician called Aaron Hendra and it’s absolutely fantastic – and Sam and the children all join in singing the last part of the song. The accompanying video also has a lot of photos from over at the orphanage and of the people of the Sudan. Not sure if everyone will be interested – no Gerard to be seen – but it’s a beautiful piece of music set to some amazing photographs.

    He shines when he has a good story and a great cast of actors to work with. Michelle, class act, Mr Shannon, The director, the writers, Sam Childers for being who he is. It all came together to make a great story come to life.
    Have a great day JJr’s, off to work.

    Shoutout to Manny. I know what a fan you are of Andy Whitfield – great sadness at his passing. By all accounts he was a lovely man, and will be sorely missed. He was taken much too young.
