Melissa McCarthy holds up a JJ coaster at the 2011 Emmy Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday (September 18) in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old Bridesmaids actress, who wore a purple dress paired with Bulgari jewelry and a Judith Leiber bag, picked up an Emmy award for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for her work on Mike & Molly.

While announcing the nominees for the category, all six ladies rushed on stage and waited! Edie Falco, Tina Fey, Laura Linney, Amy Poehler and Martha Plimpton all stood and watched while their fellow nominee Melissa took the prize!
“I’m from Plainfield, Ill., and I’m standing here, and it’s kind of amazing,” Melissa said as she teared up during her acceptance speech.

funny how people keep saying that about her win, it’s like she won for bridesmaid and not mike and molly. any hoot, i would have liked her dress if she would have gotten rid of the sleeves or caped the sleeves.
