I really hope the network knows that these ratings are a fluke and that people who don’t regularly watch the show tuned in to see what happened to Charlie’s character. Not hating or anything but there will be a dramatic drop in ratings next week. I meant to watch myself but was too lazy to turn from Dancing with the Stars.

I’ve tried watching Two and a Half Men on numerous occasions and I just can’t get the hype. Why Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad do not get these numbers of viewers is beyond me. I guess America likes mindless comedy.

I watched and missed Charlie. I was bored with his replacement.

@because I can: That would be because Game of Thrones is on HBO, which is a premium channel that most people don’t want to pay for. Breaking Bad is on AMC, which isn’t carried by most basic cable plans. Two and A Half Men is on CBS, which everybody gets. It’s actually pretty simple. However, I do understand your viewpoint.

the ratings is because people wantedd to see how they killed Charlie and how they would introduce Ashton. I missed but not crying over it. I will stay with old reruns.

The only one enamored of Kutcher is Kutcher. This show will fail soon enough.

Congrats to Chuck Lorre and his writing staff. Intro of Ashton was fantastic and funny. Best show in several years. Old formula with Sheen had stopped working for me. Booze and women were Charlie Harpers only interest and character was one dimensional. WIth todays announcement of Sheen settlement it is clear this actor is grossly overpaid. Considering the current economic times is any person worth 100 million dollars?.

wow, that’s a lot! But indeed, it’s because they want to find out what happened with Charlie. I think the next episode will have less viewers…

i miss charlie sheen it was sad to see the show go on without him. bring charlie back home.

While I agree the ratings won’t continue to be THAT high..I think it will be successful. I was an occasional watcher before but with Ashton on there..I will be an avid watcher. I love him and think he’s great. The Charlie thing was getting really old. Charlie Sheen as an actor is ok but not worth all the money he was getting paid.

Won’t last, Ashat is a DOUCHE they just wanted to see what things were going to be like. Less viewers will happen he ASHAT gets boring real quick. He doesn’t have talent never did never will look at all his movies that have flopped. His only talent Mr. Demi Moore.

Saw the show. Sorry, but Ashton was not funny..nothing compared to Charlie. Yep, ratings are a fluke. I think I will see next week and that’s it.

I have been a fan of the show since the beginning. Regardless of what you may think about Charlie Sheen personally, he is always charismatic and watchable. Aston is no Charlie Sheen. In fact, Sheen will be able to have his old time slot back in a few weeks when this show is cancelled.

And Ashton, what’s with the long hair and the beard? Even if you take your shirt off every episode, you still look like a douche.

I watched because I do watch the show. I’m not an avid fan but it is (was) one of the better sitcoms on the air. I also have to say I would have watched that one regardless, just to see how they did it. And I gotta say I was less than impressed.
Charlie Sheen was fired and I totally get it, I would have done the same thing if I was in Chuck Lorre’s shoes. But I do have to say that Sheen is in fact a decent actor. Most of the cast is. So I was already skeptical when I heard they were adding Ashton Kutcher to replace him, who, in my opinion, isn’t that great acting wise. He’s alright for romantic comedies (the mediocre ones that he has been in), seeing as that demographic apparently finds his performance good enough. But to add him to the cast of a show that was at one point the most successful comedy on TV is less than sensible.
And I’m pretty sure the only reason they hired him is the fact that he has a large presence in the media (mainly due to his marriage to Demi Moore and his Twitter account) and partly because he’s easy on the eyes.
I didn’t have high expectations watching the season 9 premiere so I wasn’t really baffled by how bad it was but the bottom line is, he didn’t really seem to know what he was doing there and he didn’t really fit in either.
What really surprised me though was that his character seemed so poorly created. I mean, he’s an internet billionaire, but seemed downright clueless. Kutcher also seems undecided about how to play “Walden”. Throughout the episode it was a constant back and forth of being introduced to a juvenile person, a naive person and someone who’s just plain stupid.
Aside from that, I was speechless about how undignified and unspeakably crude Charlie’s funeral was handled. I mean I get that they all hate Sheen but to be so insensitive about Charlie HARPER, a character the writers created, seems really wrong to me. “He exploded like a balloon full of meat”. SMH.
I guess I’ll stick around for awhile and see where they take it but I don’t think it will really be worth watching anymore.

I’ve been a huge fan of the show since their beginning. I’m highly disappointed with the writer’s in the new season as well as the new “jerk” character Walden. He has no talent and just isn’t funny. Plays an immature moron. The women on the show look at him like he’s a god. I miss the old shows and will watch their reruns but not the new show…it just sucks. I’m not saying they should bring Charlie back in his character but sure enjoyed that original group of actors playing off each other. That was real comedy!
