OlderR.E.M. Breaks Up After 31 Years
R.E.M. has broken up after 31 years of making music together.
Frontman Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, and bassist Mike Mills broke the news on their official site on Wednesday (September 21).
“To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening,” the band wrote.

So what they have not put out good music in over 10 years.
Good for them if they are ready to move on, but sad for us teens of the 90′s! :(

This is sad. I was hoping to see them in concert. Just a couple months ago I actually began to appreciate them as a band and to hear this breaks my musical heart :(
