Jessica Chastain Signs on for Sci-Fi Flick With Tom Cruise

Jessica Chastain just keeps getting busier!

The 30-year-old actress, who most recently appeared in The Help, Coriolanus, The Debt, and Take Shelter, has been cast as one of two female leads in Universal’s untitled sci-fi film starring Tom Cruise.

“Previously titled Oblivion and/or Horizons, pic revolves around a soldier stationed on a future Earth, the surface of which was destroyed by aliens. When he discovers a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod, it sets off a chain of events that cause him to question everything he knows,” Variety reports.

The film is expected to start production this winter with a July 19, 2013 release date.

Oooooh, ‘a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod’. Sounds interesting. I love sci-fi and I don’t care if Tom acted like a nut. Some people are just too tightly wound up.
