Justin Timberlake Signs On For 'Spinning Gold'

Justin Timberlake is set to star in and produce the upcoming film Spinning Gold from Boardwalk Films.

The 30-year-old entertainer will take on the role of Neil Bogart, the ’70s music legend who founded Casablanca Records and is credited for helping launch the careers of artists such as KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer, and The Village People.

“This movie is literally three decades in the making, but we knew that without the perfect actor to bring our father to life on film, his essence and impact on the lives and careers he inspired would never be fully captured – from the moment we met Justin, we knew we’d found our Neil Bogart,” producer and screenwriter Tim Bogart said in a press release.

“With Justin also a producer on the movie, together we’re crafting this saga about a young dreamer who started with nothing and came of age in the 60s and 70s, believing anything was possible and every risk was worth taking. Though he died at only 39, he lived to see all his dreams come true,” he added.

    Oh dude quit acting already

  • sillyme

He’s really making a name for himself in film. He’s not that great of an actor, but he’s very likeable on screen, and that counts for a lot. There are lots of big stars who aren’t great actors, but the camera, and audiences, seem to like them.

  • YAYA

You’re right sillyme. As an actor he’s OK to me. He’s has the potential to get better…if he doesn’t believe the hype, but it seems he does. Now he’s producing films and has the lead role. Um….I don’t think he’s good enough to play leads. Plus, this film does not seem like a comedy.

I bet he starts directing a film in six months lol. JT needs to work on his craft instead of using his money to get lead roles.

  • So&So

SMH…such a disservice to a legend like Bogart. Seems like the only way he’d get the lead is attaching himself as the producer. Such a shame to think of all of the more deserving unknown talented actors who deserve this break more than his squeaky voice, wood board acting ass…

  • laab

He believes his own hype. He really needs to stop. Why not start with supporting roles and work your way up. Just because you are a pop star doesn’t mean you are leading man. H*** he looks like a boy not even a man.

  • YAAAS HONEY!!!

how does this d-bag keep getting movie roles?!

  • Gtfo

Leave the acting to the real ACTORS. What a disgrace.

  • Frozoid

I think he’s really weird looking.

  • emmaa

Noooooooooooooooooooo. Justin, no! When will he snap out of it?!

  • veronica

not again, just stop acting you are not an actor.

  • Sean Dignam

I’m glad to hear this after it seemed that Justin Timberlake had sadly stopped doing films by the looks of it with only ‘In Time’ left to be released and no other film projects because everyone is hounding him about why he’s doing movies instead of music.
I want Justin Timberlake to keep doing movies rather than resuming his music career.
