Daniel Craig 'Can't Wait' to Start Filming 'Bond 23'

Daniel Craig walks around the West Village on Saturday (October 1) in New York City.

The 43-year-old British actor covers the November issue of Empire with his The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo co-star Rooney Mara.

Daniel recently told MTV News he hopes Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes, who are both rumored to be joining the new Bond 23 film, will be on set of the movie, which starts production this month.

“We’ve got a great script this time,” Daniel added. “I’m as excited about this script as I was about the Casino Royale script. I think in Sam [Mendes] we’ve got the perfect director. The casting is coming together now. I can’t wait to get going on it.”

    Mr. Craig,
If by chance you read this, which I doubt but maybe someone will tell you about it…..
Why are you always so nasty to your fans?
Never in the mood to smile and say hello.
Never in the mood to be photographed.
Your fans are the reason you have a job.
If your fans never liked you, they would never go and see your movies.
I just cannot understand your nasty attitude.

we all know that you don’t like the fact that Rachel is married to Daniel. no, Gina, she did not ruin Dream House. it was ruined by the idiots at Warner Brothers studio when they took control of the film away from Jim Sheridan. Rachel and Daniel were the best parts of the film. and oh yes Gina, Rachel will no doubt be on the set of Bond 23 a lot of of the time. she has rearranged her filming schedule to allow her to do that. get used to it, ok?

  • to 17

I almost agree with your opinion. However, you make two mistakes.
    1) 12 is NOT Gina.
    2) Universal and Morgan creek made Dream House. Warner Bro. just has the overseas release rights of film.

I’d like to see Kurt Angle and Gary Daniels as villains in this film. There would be amazing fight scenes between each of them with Daniel Craig.

to darling 6 – oh, he does smile alright for his FANS. What you want him to do is smile for the f***ing papz – there is a difference, you know. He just doesn’t turn into industries “playing nice” slave and I am sure, he is willing to accepot the critic from people like you for the sake of staying himself. He is just not for anybody – but you do know that – so maybe find yourself another celeb, who plays it more to your liking. Nothing wrong with that…

Daniel can;t wait for Bond because he needs a hit. His last couple of films have been big disappointment at the BO.

It show that the audience only wants to see him in Bond. He needs to get hi audience behind his other work. All that scowling and grumpy looks turns people off. OH and nobody cares that he cheated with Rachel and they got married. So they didn’t need to avoid the press.

Other than Bond Daniel is not a leading man at the moment. I don’t get it, but that is the fact. His fans should stop spending time on the internet talking about how HOT he is and go see his movies.

  • Rie

I saw he smiled and said hello at his fans in the photos taken in Toronto (April). Twice.

    Everyone knows what Universal did.
They do not avoid the press for the personal reason.
If so, why did Sheridan and Watts also avoid the press?
    Use your brains!!

  • to dondra

people here in LA know exactly what Universal did. that studio took what could have been a very good film and destroyed it. did you not see the final scene, just before the credits? that was one of the studio’s brilliant ideas in that film. Jim Sheridan did not want it. Daniel did not want it.

then there was the first trailer. do you honestly think that Jim Sheridan approved it? all concerned were and still are angry. had the powers that be stayed out of it and allowed Jim Sheridan to create the film he wanted it would be much different. everyone would saying how could Dream House is.

  • danielik25

I want someone else like Bond…

  • Question

Where is his wedding ring? Look at the first photo. Clearly not wearing it.

  • @17, @30, @31

And you all work for the studios or DC or for Sheridan or for Weisz in what capacity? How would you all know all this insider and studio stuff? Amazing how many people know so much. Or so they claim. Dream on all of you. Nobody outside the business, or who aren’t in their inside circles, know these things. Noone believes such insider people would post on an open comment board like this. Just creepy how some people like to make themselves big by claiming to know all sorts of inside things. So sad.

Actors risk their reputations in silly thriller Dream House

“Can ‘Dream House’ pack the house without proper publicity?

Box office watchers are predicting that “Dream House” will end up beating Seth Rogen’s “50/50″ and Brad Pitt’s “Moneyball,” which opened last week, to become the top film this weekend. I find it hard to make such a prediction, though, when I haven’t seen the film. And neither have most critics.

That’s because Universal, the film’s distributor, decided not to screen it for reviewers. The move surprised most of us, given the pedigree of the talent involved in the movie. Daniel Craig is the latest James Bond and a respected actor beyond that. Rachel Weisz is an Oscar-winning actress who often takes a break from the big screen to go back to her roots in the theater. (The two just married this year, in a surprising private ceremony, adding only more interest to the film.) Naomi Watts has been nominated for an Oscar as well.

The film was directed by Jim Sheridan, an Irishman who has been nominated a six times for Academy Awards, including “My Left Foot” and “In the Name of the Father.”

    So what happened?

The professionals aren’t saying much, of course. But rumors that Sheridan clashed with Morgan Creek Productions head James G. Robinson are so widespread, there must be some truth to them. Reportedly, the studio boss took creative control of the film away from Sheridan, making changes and cuts of his own. Predictably, the director wasn’t happy. And the actors backed him up.

In fact, Craig, Weisz and Watts were so displeased with the direction the film took that they’ve all refused to do publicity for it. The studio was left scrambling, picking bits and pieces out of other interviews the stars have done in which they might have mentioned the film.

Craig and Weisz play a married couple in the film who move from Manhattan to New England with their two young daughters. They don’t find peace in their new home, however. It turns out the house was the scene of a shocking multiple murder of a mother and her children, one that was never completely solved. Watts is a neighbor who knew the family and befriends Craig as he looks for answers as mysterious things begin happening to his own family.

Anyone who’s seen one of the film’s trailers knows this storyline — and a lot more. One wonders if Morgan Creek wanted to get people in the theaters after they released a promo that seemed to give away the film’s major plot twist. Certainly, a spooky story like this usually appeals to audiences when there’s more mystery surrounding the film — the film’s plot, that is, not its troubled production. I suspect there’s more to the story that is revealed in the clips. But again, I can’t tell you if that’s true.

A cold opening, as a release without critics seeing the movie beforehand is called, doesn’t necessarily keep away audiences — though it took me a while to go down the list of top films from this year and find one that opened cold. Tyler Perry’s movies don’t screen for critics, but always make money.

“Dream House” cost about $50 million to make. Whether it can make that back, and then some, is a question only the audience can answer.”

Daniel Craig’s ‘Dream House’ shattered by critics

The long anticipated film that stars celebrity Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz has been on the receiving end of some damning criticism from the reviewers. The redeeming feature, it seems, are its stars.

Read on to see what the critics had to say:

Though the cinematography, by the great Caleb Deschanel (who shot “The Black Stallion,” “The Right Stuff,” and others), is gauzy and creepy, Sheridan’s pacing is turgid and mournful, which lends the story – sort of like “The Shining” crossed with “Gothika” during a sleepover stop at “The Amityville Horror” – an air of ponderousness.

By the time the ridiculous conclusion arrives, with five people arriving separately in a room as if this were Noel Coward’s “Blithe Spirit,” you wish all the wounded parties would hurry up with their emotional healing so we could all raise our eyebrows and say, “Ah, clever.”

Craig and Weisz, though, do make a nice couple, and appear genuinely connected to the material’s deeper underpinnings, trite as they may be. These A-listers seem to be under the impression that they were making something not that embarrassing. Universal Pictures, which released the film, seemed to have thought otherwise, as they released “Dream House” without screening it for critics.

Whenever a movie character decides to abandon a successful career to “spend more time with my family,” scenes of domestic bliss rarely follow. “Dream House” is no exception, though this crackpot thriller from the usually competent Jim Sheridan leaves only one mystery unsolved: what on earth was he thinking?

And not just Mr. Sheridan. “Dream House” staggers beneath the weight of terrific actors and a seasoned cinematographer (Caleb Deschanel), who all risk their reputations in the service of a haunted-house tale of gobsmacking foolishness. At its addle-headed center is Will (Daniel Craig), a Manhattan publisher, who moves his gorgeous wife, Libby (Rachel Weisz), and two small daughters to a bucolic New England town.
