OlderKate Winslet Covers 'Harper's Bazaar UK' November 2011
Kate Winslet graces the cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK‘s November 2011 issue, on newsstands Thursday (October 6).
Here’s what the 35-year-old English actress had to share:
On her marriage break up with director Sam Mendes: “One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it’s fine, it’s really fine. I’m not going to s—fling, there’s no point in even going there. It is what it is… We’re grown-ups at the end of the day, and however hard it’s been for me, it’s been equally hard for him. And we have a child together who we both love – and raising him together, jointly and without any conflict, is absolutely key. It’s the only way to do it, and I’ve really learnt that with Mia.”
On modern families: “Those days of every child having a mummy and daddy who lived at home – Daddy went to work, and Mummy stayed at home and took care of everyone – those days have almost gone, and it’s so much more unconventional now”
On the future: “I feel that I’m just at the beginning of a new narrative, and it’s incredibly exciting. It’s complicated, I know, and uncertain – but it’s where life happens, between the cracks. It can be a painful process, but I truly hope that never stops for me.”

I must admit that I would NEVER have recognised the woman on the cover as being Kate Winslet! She is unrecognizable and I cannot understand why such a beautiful woman agrees to this level of photoshopping!? It is almost a joke.

Kate Winslet is simply stunning, just look at you….WOW :) not only is her acting performances are magnificently astonishing but she is the perfect example to every woman in the world, an independent woman and also a great role model too. She’s my inspiration :)

When you ask an actress to appear on the cover of your magazine to promote her current film, photoshopping the actress beyond recognition totally defeats the purpose! Models are different, their job is to transform drastically for shoots. But we’re supposed to recognize the actress to identify with her, to make the connection to her work as an actress. Why even get Kate Winslet if you’re going to make her look like anyone but Kate Winslet? It’s funny because you can tell it’s her in the other pictures, yet they had to go crazy with the photoshopping for the cover. I don’t get it. :|
