Katie Holmes goes for an early morning walk to Starbucks with her 5-year-old daughter Suri on Thursday (October 6) in Pittsburgh, Penn.
The 32-year-old actress and husband Tom Cruise, who’s in town filming One Shot, made a quick trip out to Palm Springs, Calif., over the weekend for the wedding of Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol producer David Ellison.

Suri is wearing a jacket, WoW!! it’s about darn time, but what the heck is she wearing under the jacket, and what’s with the sandals. This kid always look unkept, and she seems under weight for her age. She’s starting to look more and more like J. Jackson. I seriously believe Katie was pregnant before she met Tom. @ Alexandra & Christian – I read almost all of the comments to be about the parents. The child is just an unfortunate bystander of the parents’ care or lack thereof. And if she often looks miserable or underdressed, I don’t think that’s an insult so much as an observation. Even the ruminations about whether she is on the spectrum are fair comments – I imagine we wonder about the children around us everyday.
I’m not saying that the comments are fair or accurate – I just don’t find them to be attacks on her character.

Please don’t take this as me defending Kate – I’m not a big fan of hers. But, I live in Pittsburgh. It’s in the high 70s this week. Yes – the mornings are cold – but it is warmer. Heck, I’m wearing sandals today as are most of my co-workers :) We are typically pretty cold, but are lucky this year!

Katie also returned to her catholic church and regards that much more so than scientology, now, daily. Again, I’m so very proud of her for not letting scientology control her so much, anymore, too. IMO, it’s very telling which Hollywood celebs are happy to get attention by allowing the media to endlessly snap pics of their innocent children.
There’s nothing wrong with allowing the media to take an occassional pic of your child in order to satisfy YOUR fans’ interest in your ‘wonderful’ fairytale life BUT it’s NOT ok to force your child to live under a microscope because you love the attention.

To LI Mom, Well, no matter what, I hope she, at least, also remembers that no matter how stubborn her daughter, Suri, is about it, or how much she argues, that Katie will make her wear her coat when the weather is much cooler or colder. After all, Katie’s the parent, and Suri’s still the child. Thus, if Suri gets sick, or gets pneumonia, from not wearing her coat, I think it’s perfectly fair to firmly say that it won’t be her fault.
