Salma Hayek Covers 'Redbook' November 2011

Salma Hayek graces the cover of Redbook‘s November issue.

Here’s what the 45-year-old Mexican actress had to share with the mag:

On why she chose to star in Puss In Boots: “I liked the idea of doing a movie that [my daughter] Valentina could see, since there are many I’ve done that she is too young to see, and a few I’d probably never want her to. I’m a watchdog when it comes to what she can and cannot see.”

On motherhood changing her acting: “I’m playing the queen of a drug cartel in an Oliver Stone film [Savages]. He asked if I’d gone ‘all soft’ because I’m a mother. I said ‘Yes, but I can be the devil if I need to, because after all, I’m an actress.’”

On husband Francois-Henri Pinault influencing her style: “Like I said, I’m still a Mexican. I like to play fashion with him, but I’m nobody’s Barbie.”

You people don’t even know and you’re talking. He never cheated on her. They were separated when he started going out with the model and she knew about the baby way before everyone else knew about it. So, he never cheated and she’s not dumb either.

You haters get a life.

She is half Mexican. I wonder why she never mentions her Lebanese side? Salma is an arabic name.

L O L at people hating on this fierce queen because she likes to wear the labels her husband owns. You do know those labels include Gucci and Alexander McQueen right? She picks what she wants to wear that’s what she means not that he dresses her.
Anyway, LOVE this fierce woman. She’s so refreshingly unashamed of being strong and confident. Talented and sexy. I dig her.

Golddigging Social Climber!
I am half arab and I KNOW why she doesnt mention her Arab side, she is ashamed because right now in this Day and Age it is not COOL to be arab.
Anyways her looks are more Lebanese than Mexican,
screw her like she did to Edward Norton to get her roles and then dump him for a cheating scumbag billionare

@Orange: We all Mexicans have heritage from another culture and not for that reason we are half Mexican

I’m Mexican and I don’t go around presenting myself as half-this or half-that. It’s annoying how in every Salma post there’s someone bitching about his. Get a life.

maybe because her father is Mexican too?
he has lebanese origins or descendants, but he is Mexican himself, probably very integrted ino the Mexican culture of VEracruz, where she was born.
