I agree with Downey. Charlie Sheen has been allowed to move on, and so has Chris Brown. You have people like Tracy Morgan making anti-gay remarks every time he opens his mouth. The only reason Mel has not been forgiven is because he’s a conservative.

Is Robert blah blah another hungry for fame man?

I disagree. Mel can move on with his life but he doesn’t deserve the spotlight anymore. spotlight is not something one can’t live without and those who abuse it need to go away for good, no second chances. I think it’s fair.

Please he is right i mean silly hollyweird forgave Polanski who raped a young girl and who knows how many others and hollywood was behind him and supported him manly because he is jewish and Mel makes a mistake which is not as worse and what Polanski did yet Hollywood cannot forgive him ?

I agree. Mel is talented, skilled, and has shown he is sorry unlike Chris Brown who gave a half-assed apology, Roman Polanski who drugged and raped a 13 year old, Lindsay Lohan who gives insincere apologies every day, Paris Hilton who has never apologized for taped rant about n-g-rs, Charlie Sheen. Rob Lowe, R Kelley. All have done worse than Mel. His big problem aside from drinking–hooking up with a woman who wanted fame and didn’t care how she got it. I do not condone any physical altercations etc., but when you listen to the tapes she made–she seems to be egging him on trying to get him to lose control–and why? Probably so she could sue him and make big bucks. Back fired big time. And again, I don’t support or condone the physical violence that occurred. But Mel has more talent than Rob Lowe, R Kelly, Charlie Sheen, and dozens of others. He deserves a second chance.

By your logic then, RDJ wouldn’t be there accepting his award. Also by your logic, there would be very few people in the spotlight, in fact, Hollywood as a business would cease to exist.

It’s time for the Hollywood hypocrites to get off of their high horse and let Mel do what he does – make movies.
