OlderZachary Quinto: I Felt It Was My Time to Come Out
Zachary Quinto leaves an apartment building with some luggage on Tuesday (October 18) in New York City.
The 34-year-old actor recently chatted with Access Hollywood about his decision to come out.
“I just felt like it was my time, you know? I felt like it was a week of declarations for me. I’m declaring that I’m gay, I’m declaring that I want to be a serious contributor to the dialogues that are happening in the world right now. The way that I can do that is creatively,” he shared.
Zach added that he wasn’t thinking about whether his announcement might inspire other actors to come out, too.
“That’s their life and that’s their journey. Everybody has to get to a point in their own time in their own way. The thing that I’m most proud of in this entire situation is that’s exactly how I did this. It was on my terms, in my own words, and I’m really grateful for that,” he explained.

@Toni: First, sexuality is not a preference, it’s a life condition, so you don’t choose to be gay or straight . Second, their sexual orientation might not have anythng to do with their job, but the same way you are proud to say you are heterosexual when people ask you about it, he’s proud to say he’s gay. People’s sexual orientation is a private matter but if he wants to make it public, that’s his choice, that’s his right.

You haters are really disgusting with your “gays should keep their lives private” comment. Just because you’re so sick and twisted and homophobic that the only thing you can think of is sex when you see discussions about someone’s sexual identity doesn’t mean gay people should hide in the closet.

Cool your damn jets, why is this such a big deal, this guy coming out? This guy hasn’t done anything special, has he cured cancer? No, Has he cured AIDS? No. he just announced, omg I am such a special snowflake because I happen to be into men (after lying about his sexuality for years much to the annoyance of the gay community who hated the fact that he was in the closet). I met this Zach guy years ago, yeah and it was pretty obivious then. NPH is a gay role model, Zach, not so much.

Because, it is automatically assumed the person is straight. Then the person, who doesn’t clarify, is allowing a false believe to continue. Since 90% of the world is straight, theres no need to “come out” as straight. But if you were a part of the 10% you would realize that it is something you have to tell people or else it is assumed you are a part of the 90%.
Also, with all of the recent death of teens due to social pressures regarding being gay, there is a certain responsibility to stand up and say “I am gay too” and support those being held down or bullied because they are gay or perceived gay.
He is probably serious with Jonathan Groff…..time to marriage?
This guy is perfection inside and out!! Whether he is gay or not, I admire him..
