The collection includes Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Effie (Elizabeth Banks), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Rue (Amandla Stenberg), and Cato (Alexander Ludwig).
Here’s the film’s official synopsis: Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
The Hunger Games hits theaters March 23, 2012!

I think Jennifer is a great actress just watch winter bone and she did get an oscar nod i don’t think people should say she wont be a good Katniss based on her looks wait until you actually see her bring the character to life then pass judgement

Words cannot express how excited I am to see this movie! They better not disappoint the fans and muck it up. I’m a little worried, but very hopeful it will satisfy. Hoping it’s as good or better than the book! Squeals!
I really hate when a book is turned into a movie. I just finished the series today it was beautiful and so many words that cant discribe it unless you read the books. I think the fans should be able to vote on who gets to play the characters becasue when we read a book we form the characters in our mind our way not some fail holloywood producer who hasnt read any of the book or just skimmed. I just hope it dosent fail and give the book a bad name.

They all look great! Peeta looks absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I can’t wait for this to come out! And Suzanne Collins picked out the actors not the director so quit complaining. I think she would know who her characters should be. Josh you RULE!! He is going to be AMAZING as Peeta!! The character is so Him!!!
I’m super syched. Waited so long for this annoucment. Cannot wait till March 23. I’m very happy with the casting based on the earlier picks for Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Im also super glad that Susan picked the characters they are perfect.
