Zooey Deschanel has separated from her husband Ben Gibbard.
The 31-year-old actress and the Death Cab for Cutie singer mutually separated after two years of being together, according to Us Weekly.

Zooey was last spotted with a group of gal pals attending Kate Hudson‘s Halloween party on Sunday.

Oh, wow, I had no idea she was married! She looks so young. I feel bad for them you know, as long as they didn’t break up because abuse or anything physical, but I guess you can’t force love nowadays.

That’s unexpected. I’m following them on Twitter and they both seemed so happy and in love pretty recently (like a few weeks ago ago). She was writing how lucky she was and what a great husband she had or joking about him not letting her doing some weird stuff in their house (with re-decorating) , he was answering her in the same style and they seemed like a happy marriage. Something bad must have happened cause I can’t believe that someone can be so in love at one moment and then just fall out of love within a few weeks (unless they were faking their conversations wich would be weird).

I’m sure they’ve been separated for a while. She hasn’t worn her ring in any of the New Girl press. That might not mean anything, though. But I had a feeling. They barely announced their marriage when it happened, so I’m glad this is going down pretty quietly too. They seem to enjoy their privacy.
Yeah, I noticed she hasn’t worn her ring in the last few months. I did notice that Ben has been wearing his though. I went to a Death Cab concert in Oct. and he was still wearing it then… Kind of strange.
