Jeremy Heimans, Activist: Jeremy Heimans launched this year, a global LGTB rights organization. Previously, he cofounded in 2007, a civic-minded organization to give voice to individuals on climate change, human rights and religious conflict.

Jose Antonio Vargas, Journalist: Vargas is known for his coverage of gay issues, but this year, he came out in a completely new way: as an undocumented immigrant. Born in the Philippines and raised in California, Vargas later discovered his immigration status was invalid. A major figurehead for the DREAM Act – which would have provided permanent residency to some illegal immigrants – he’s now working on the Define American campaign for immigrant rights.

His Broadway-bound musical adaptation of Tales of the City, with music by Jake Shears and John Garden of Scissor Sisters, that premiered this summer in San Francisco.

Wayne Koestenbaum, Poet & Cultural Critic: John Waters summed up Wayne’s book when he wrote: “This literary ‘topping from the bottom’ is the funniest, scariest, most heartbreaking yet powerful book I’ve read in a long time.”

@Leenah: of course he is….its pretty obvious

Good for you J. This website has succeeded because you’re not bitter.

Lol! Ppl shocked Jared’s gay. Duh!

John Hopkirk @ 11/09/2011 at 1:02 pm

Why are we celebrating homosexuality? It’s not something we should be proud of. The degradation of society continues at pace. *sigh*

I actually had no idea Jared was gay, that’s too bad for us,girls :( I would have married him.

Congratulations, Jared! it is wonderful seeing you get the rewards of a job well done. Wish you would rub off on some of the other sites, tho! Love to you and yours!

But of course we will still get PR approved posts of closeted actors and their beards. Pffft

Lookin good’ Jared!

Congratulations @ 11/09/2011 at 1:34 pm

Congratulations JJ!!!!.

I wonder who else is on the 100 list. Hmmm
I’m digging the black and white photos they went with for everyone.

I hope and I mean really hope that Zachary Quinto made the list. He had a lot of guts to come out of the closet like he did to be a good role model in the L.G.B.T community. Therefore Zachary is very inspiring to a lot of people.
@John Hopkirk: I feel sorry for you and your closed mind about others and the way they choose to live their lives and find love, peace and happiness. I really do.

Congrats again JJ!

congratulations jared well done,
you and your team work hard to make the site what it is.

Yay for Jared (even though he’s a kissass)! You deserve it!

CONGRATS JARED! You look AWESOME!! Keep up the good work and all the best going forward into 2012!!!

bunch of uglies on that list

Jared is so damn handsome!

I love that Brad character from Racel Zoe’s show and now he will have his own gig on Bravo.

But Mr Andy Cohen is in need of on-air coaching –if he wants to continue hosting. It’s bad enough that he’s all over the place with his shoddy inteviewing technique….but his facial expressions ….the teeth and the mouth wide open look crazy and it all DISCTRACTS from the viewer.

Bravo should invest in coaching. This network can afford it with all of the money it makes exploiting grown ass women with the Housewives brand.

And–stop trying to be relevenat

Gee, had no idea that Jared was a phag
