Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara take the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s latest issue, on newsstands Friday (November 11).
Here’s what the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo stars had to share with the mag:
Rooney, on initially being told she wasn’t right for the part: “They said they didn’t want to see me. I was like, ‘Okay, that makes sense. I don’t think I’m necessarily right for it either.’ And then I saw the girls who were potentially up for the part all over the Internet and I thought, ‘Well, if these girls are going in, I should get a chance. They’re not necessarily any more right for it than I am.’”
Director David Fincher, on handling the intense scenes in the story: “I couldn’t be happier. We didn’t want to whitewash it. We intend to earn our R [rating]. If you’ve read the book, you know what I’m talking about.”

Just wait till you see the film. It will be much closer to the book then the other version, I am sure of that. They are partners, friends and lovers – so why would she not? Also, this is a cover – what do you expect her to do – spit at him?

Swedish version had a rape scene, too. I think Noomi’s performance was awesome. I was able to understand why she retaliated.

I “almost” agree with some of these. The pic does misconstrue what some people perceive Lizbeth to be, But if you really want to see her strong-watch the movie, and the explicit rape scenes. They have to make money-that picture WILL get people to see the movie. And the pic has to be photoshopped-agreed they look like animotrons-but maybe they really arent in the same studio, maybe he is with ME, posing for ME, that is an incredible, unseen stance for him to accentuate his positives. And he doesn’t shave-at least he hadn”t shaved there yet for Bond. I work with youngins-and they say that is the norm these days-full body shave(I know they have fancy words to call the process, but damnn-if ya cant say it, how can you do it?) anyhoww–the photographers are quite talented for all these PR shots. nice. “ok, now Dan, throw the other hip out and open up that shirt a little more, yeah. then turn and kick. ok. ah, how bout giving me your belt, we dont need that in this shot, and ah, Rooney, why dont’ you take a break… And Dan, yes, are you wearing socks? yeah, we dont’ need them. I mean, we dont need them in this shot…”

“you must watch the rape scenes” because of what “we” have said rationally–because then you can “justify” what she does for “vindication”. and “we” never stated that Lis aint borderline ****** from what she was “taught” love was. so, this will bring up all kinds of wonderful intellectual psychological banter. And this is why I dont’ believe Lisbeth can ever be a real person–she is just too many persons wrapped up. They would somehow contradict each other making her more self distructive OR catatonic in real life.
