Older'Breaking Dawn': $139.5 Million at Box Office!
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 brought in $139.5 million at the box office over the weekend!
The film, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, brought in a massive $283.5 million worldwide, just behind New Moon‘s first weekend total.
Also newly released was Happy Feet Two, which brought in $22 million, nearly half of what the original film brought in on its first weekend.
George Clooney‘s The Descendants was also released in a limited launch this week and is set to be pushed into more theaters over Thanksgiving weekend.

‘Another Happy Day’ should have gotten a wide release. It has a stellar cast (Ellen Barkin, Kate Bosworth, Ellen Burstyn, Thomas Haden Church, George Kennedy, Demi Moore) and deserves better than to be ignored by the public now.
I find these numbers incredible. Do people watch these movies because they like Taylor, Rob, and Kristen or do they actually like the story and the fact that the entire movie looks like one big spoof?

Wow, thats a huge opening for a movie that is average at best. These are not as bad as people make them out to be, well except New Moon, but still amazing so many people flock to these films.

this goes to show you anything can make money if you market it correctly… even crap !
It just shows how women hunger female driven movies. Hollywood can makes male oriented movies all they want like Dark Knight, Transformers, Spiderman, etc but they should really look into making actually GOOD female driven movies. Females are an audience too. Twilight is horribly made but it shows that it can compete with male driven films too. Hollywood, take a look.

I saw the movie yesterday, and it was great! I loved every minute of it.
@lucy: No wonder the rest of the world thinks we are the dumbest nation. These numbers prove that our average citizen isn’t very intelligent.

yes, Another Happy Day should have been given wider release but the powers that be decided otherwise. it’s simple economics. yes, Another Day is brilliant and should be considered for Oscar nominations. but the sad fact is that this film and others like it will not bring in the money that the studios need and want. people i work with in LA think this film with be on DVD in very short order.
the studios need to bring in the dollars if they are going to pay for the next crop of new films. to that end they put out what they think will make the money in wide release. Breaking Dawn is number 4 in “the Twilight Saga” which has proven to be a very big money maker and is bringing in the audience. the movie theatres showing Breaking Dawn have been completely full and will be for some time. Ron Meyer, Universal Pictures Chief, has said it out loud. he’d rather make money than make critically acclaimed award bait.

i totally like this movies specially the story (answ the Q) but the day of the premier (17 at midnight) i didn´t see as many people as i see on HP… but i keep saying i love both soooo much
It still hasnt broken the original movie debut. which means the franchise is losing appeal. Harry Potter films kept breaking their record each film. So this is not a big deal also like the other Twilight films after the second- third week the movie fails… Fans go to see these movies but overall the point is for non-fans to see the film.. there is no appeal for that.

People the guy is dead therefore is not able to have an Er ection so how the hell is he able to get a women is beyond me it’s is a messed up fantasy movie which pushes the women’s movement 50 years back way to go girls looks up to pathetic characters like belle thinking one day a dark knight will come and save them from this world WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FRESH AIR IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
