Michelle Obama: White House Music Series Speaker!
Michelle Obama speaks to music students for The History of Country Music: From Barn Dances to Pop Charts in the State Dining Room of the White House on Monday (November 21) in Washington, DC.
The 47-year-old First Lady introduced singers Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, and Darius Rucker to the students, who asked questions and listened to the musicians play as part of the White House Music Series.
“I don’t want you to…simply just sit back in awe. I want you all to realize, as you sit here, that you belong here. You have to see yourself here in these seats, sitting up here on this stage one day, because…young people like you with their own dreams,” Michelle said in her inspirational speech to the kids.
