Katharine McPhee: 'Smash' Covers Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'

Check out this video of Katharine McPhee covering Christina Aguilera‘s hit song “Beautiful”.

The clip features footage from the upcoming NBC series Smash, which will premiere in February!

Smash centers on a group of people putting together a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Debra Messing and Anjelica Huston also star.

FYI: Smash will feature both original songs and covers and will be paired with The Voice on Monday nights.

Holy crap Katharine McPhee is gorgeous! So long since Idol I had forgotten lol. I really like this video. Really nice version of the song. Doesn’t seem very Broadway though, haha. Looking forward to watching Smash. The cast seems great.and it has Anjelica Huston so BONUS!

Very dull and passionless version of the song. I guess the lyrics just don’t resonate with Katherine the way they do with Christina.

She’s so brave to sing an iconic song..You are beautiful in every single way, but sorry you did not do justice nor give life to the song. Probably Kelly Clarkson or perhaps even Daughtry can give a powerful rendition of the song.

I can’t see it since I am In PARIS but Only Christina can sing this song with the meaning and the heart it carries in itself..

I like Katherines version more Christina kinda moans too much.
