Gerard Butler Vows To Never Date Co-Stars Again

Gerard Butler makes a trip to the Fred Segal store after a relaxing lunch with some buddies on Saturday (November 26) in Brentwood, Calif.

The 42-year-old Scottish stud recently said he wants to settle down and does not plan to do it with a co-star.

“That’s a dangerous path. When you’re making a film with someone, you get to know them very well indeed and it’s too easy to develop a sort of obsession with them that you think at the time might be love. But it isn’t,” Gerard said.

“Earlier in my career, I had a couple of relationships with co-stars and both times it was a disaster,” he added.

FYI: Gerard is wearing a Rogue cotton henley.

@GFW:

“I’m right, everyone knows it. No new photos, ”

-

There’s new photos all over the place with him at Mavericks right before and after the wave. They wouldn’t release them without Butler’s permission. JJ will probably have a new thread here soon with some of them. I think then that makes you wrong.

keepnitreel @ 12/20/2011 at 10:48 am

@GFW:

If anyone was “grossed out” it wasn’t over the banter here it was over the pix you had up on your blog that people could access! Do you know that kids can come on this site too? You are an irresponsible moron and arrogant twit. The statements you make about Gerry’s Mum and her favoring one child over another is another stupid and irresponsible remark! Do you know how ignorant you sound?

Holy crap… I haven’t seen such hysterical posting here in a long long time. “Is he okay?” “How can I sleep not knowing if he is okay?” “Why haven’t they told us anything?”
.
Sorry but really girls??? He had a close scrape and was lucky as sh!t IMO. His team/film crew/ego put himself into danger and he survived.
.
But let’s put this into perspective… one man doing something he didn’t know that much about had a close call and will live to not only see another day, but flourish. 700, yes that is 700 Philipinos lost their lives in a storm over the weekend. That means 700 people will not face another day, not flouish, not rebuild, not grow up in the case of the children, etc.
.
Butler is fun to watch and nice eye candy but let’s be serious girls. If you missed one second of sleep or posted more than a couple of posts of concern, you’ve got a problem. You are giving your life to a celebrity who contentedly lives his life with no mind as to you or yours. Food for thought…
.
I was totally and completely offended by the use of the word tsunami being used. To that poster, go look at the devastation of a tsunami http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wYiNnHEGyY and then have the audcitity to say an average set of waves at Mavericks is the same. Here is a look at an “epic” set of waves at Mavericks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcioR3ElH60 and it still does not have the strength or the endurance of a tsunami.
.
I’m glad the stinker (Butler) is out having hamburgers the day after his “close call” and happily going about his business. I’d miss the bloke if he wasn’t around but my life would not turn upside down by any means. :)
.
@niknoks – ITAWY. You would think that it was their mister/son/brother the way some went on and on…

@keepnitreel:
Then I put up “gross” photos of the Human Body nightly, you prude.
-
Fact. Nothing justifies the over-sharing of people here about the bodies and private lives since late November. Nothing. They were so foul they were deleted. Is there a part of this you fail to comprehend? No new thread, get IT?
~K

@keepnitreel:
Okay for the dim-witted. How this NO NEW THREAD? Is that dunce-speak clear enough?
~K

@Jr:
Not sure if you mean me or them? I’m thinking them. Total rudeness. Total disrespect to someone who was held down underwater for a LONG time. The man escaped being tossed onto the rocks. The crazy waves came out of nowhere. It’s the rocks that cause this nuttiness.
-
Sorry it this was posted here but it shows he was not to blame.

who thinks a few need to read this very carefully

I’m glad he out celebrating with hamburgers too! (goalie arms) Glad he’s got his wits and is jumping back into life, a life that just turned more precious than the beautiful pearl of a man he is.
-
The pearl is a good symbol for Gerry. Creature of the sea, water sign, born from a grain of sand lustered by time tumbling!

who prefers him to be the freshwater pearl type as each is totally unique as is he

@GFW: Your posts make me want to retch. For the sake of all our digestive systems, go away and find something useful to do.

@ick:
Skip over them… and, oh, have a nice day.

“If you missed one second of sleep or posted more than a couple of posts of concern, you’ve got a problem.”

What about being here for years, does that count for a “problem”??

@keepnitreel:
“So what would you say happens when someone goes in to save someone from drowning and drowns themself OR rushes in to a burning building to save a life and perishes? Your thoughts!”
.
Sorry, I replied to your question last night but someone took it upon themselves to flag it down. I think some of my words threaten certain people here. I complained to JJ about its removing posts arbitrarily without checking their content. I received an email saying JJ will investigate how comments are flagged.
.
@Anita:
“Thank you.
Your beautiful words are uplifting and inspiring. There is a lot of good sense in what you say, and GB’s threads trigger very interesting conversations at time.”
.
Happy you felt that way.

@GFW:

Look at that, a new thread, it’s almost like JJ has gone out of it’s way to prove you’re full of sh*t….

@GFW:
.
Or the poor PATHETIC souls that dedicate a whole blog to him…

@niknoks:
“Real surfers don’t often survive such experiences”
-
Yes they do, you should watch big wave competitions, you will see surfers wipeout, take bigger hits from bigger waves and carry on competing after a quick medical check. Yes ‘real’ surfers die after being held down but generally they are in much worse situations than GB.
_____
LOL! There are people that survive all kinds of bad situations, such as being buried alive for 17 days after an earthquake. So I’m sure some surfers survive a “two wave hold down.” BTW, these are not my words. Did you read the article posted by “from WO”? Interesting article written by surfers. Here it is again for you:

http://surfimages.com/blog/2011/12/20/gerard-butler-almost-drowns-at-mavericks/

” A two wave hold down in the surfing world is considered one of the worst scenarios a surfer could find himself in…… It is very hard to believe that Gerard did actually have a two wave hold down and not drown as most professional surfers could rarely survive this type of scenario yet alone an armature”
.
Some words of advice for you, you should first read the comments and articles posted, before you look for an excuse “to tell me off”. It makes you sound petty. Are you still soooooo angry I don’t share your ridiculous ideology? Of course, you are. You can’t believe there are people out there that actually think for themselves and look for the truth. You follow your stup!d government propaganda because you don’t know how to think. LOL! And everything you don’t like sounds to you like Sarah Palin. You need to come up with another reason why you’re so shaken and stirred by other ideas. You’re a one-trick pony and you’re getting boring.

“Each one of these waves could be described as a small Tsunami. ”
-
No, they couldn’t. Tsunamis and waves are two completely different things.
____
LOL! Here we go again. Yes, they are 2 different things because tsunamis usually follow earthquakes, BUT, tsunamis produce waves and that’s why some mammoth waves could be describes as tsunami waves. Waves are waves; it’s irrelevant in which process they were produced – an earthquake or other means.

@Manny:
“I was totally and completely offended by the use of the word tsunami being used. To that poster, go look at the devastation of a tsunami “
.
No need to be overly offended. If you get offended so easily by such a simple statement, I wonder what happens to you when someone really insults you.
.
In addition, if you ever watch Nat Geo, Discovery channel, or TLC they produce many shows on nature, including tsunamis, and I have watched many of them. In fact, just recently there was a show on Nat Geo about the tsunami phenomenon and how a smaller tsunami could be formed in a river. It doesn’t always have to cause massive devastation. That’s where I got the phrase a “small tsunami”. So, really, you don’t need to become over dramatic and over reacting, using statements such as, “I was totally and completely offended by the use of the word tsunami being used.” Please relax.

Luke 2: 8-14
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

@Manny:
That you used to read. ;o) Actually, the blog isn’t TO him. Not at all. I’ve a story I’m writing using the blogging format… there’s a difference. Now, in comments we do. THIS (accident) would deserve a post topic. It did. But I haven’t been here for years. Years? That’s a serious addiction problem. That, and you’ve no real life beyond this. Which is very sad.
~K

@GerrysVeryFascinatingWoman:
.
No it’s just p*rn featuring him…

@WOW:
Wow, now we’re getting into very deep complex subjects and theories. It’s very hard to explain this in a one brief post, but I’ll do my best.
.
Everything happens for a reason or a purpose and there is no coincident, something even Gerry recognizes by often saying that many times “bad” things happen to us, or at least we think they are bad because we can’t see the whole picture, but in the end, once you lived a life you can reflect on it and see it all happened the way it should have from the start; it all happened because it was meant to be that way, and couldn’t have happened any other way.
.
A good example from his life, which he often uses as an example of this principal, is his firing from the law firm. At first he thought it was the worst thing that could have happened to him, but later both he and his mom recognized it was the best thing that could have happened to him – a blessing in disguise.
.
All of life is really a blessing in disguise, and some things are revealed to us fairly quickly. However, most things that occur in this psychical world are not revealed to us on purpose. It’s made hard, so we’ll have to search for answers and understandings, find clues and tell-tell signs, and be awed by the greatness of it all. Eventually, after a long, long period of time, sometimes even decades or centuries later we get answers. That’s when we recognize how amazing all of it is. Slowly… but surely, we are getting a greater understanding of our world and universe, but the task has been arduous to say the least. As humanity develops and progresses, we’ll have more answers and understandings of how our universe works, why we’re here, our purpose for being here, why everything that happens is really meant to be that way, including “bad” things that happen to us, and how we are rewarded for our behavior. You don’t have to be religious to see that there is a beauty and order to our universe. All you have to be is someone able to recognize the signs.
.
That being said, it’s extremely hard to explain something as tragic as what you’ve described. However, applying the principal that everything has a purpose and everything has a reason, we can only say that it was meant to be that way. Maybe the person that perished was repaying a debt owed from a previous life? No one knows for sure why things that appear so unfair happen. All we can say is that there is a reason and a purpose for everything. If you deny this, you deny the existence of a creator. Some people do, and that’s OK. It’s all a theory; nothing has been proven yet. But, science is on a fast track to proving there’s a God. However, even if we get evidence, he will always be elusive and not easily understood, and there will always be an element of us having to recognize the signs, which is what he wants, as it’s the only way we can appreciate his greatness.
.
From a karmic standpoint, there is no greater act of kindness than what you have described. People who believe in a creator know that he doesn’t like to keep a balance where he owes and doesn’t pay, and it works in reverse as well. Therefore, that person that gave his life will also get his reward. There are 2 ways in which this could happen. Either he gets it in the next life directly from that person he saved, or his descendants will get it from the descendants of that person. Either way, every debt is eventually paid and no one is left owing anyone anything or being owed anything. That’s why it’s such a good idea to always repay back whenever possible. It’s better than leaving an outstanding debt that you eventually have to settle. Sometimes, it’s not possible to do that, but when it is, it’s advisable. Just to clarify, by debt I don’t necessarily mean money or something tangible, it could be something intangible as well, such as an act of kindness. If it’s something that you’re able to repay, do so before you incur a debt that must eventually be settled.

“Porn” you used to LOVE to read. ;o) I know stuff. :o)

GerrysVeryFascinatingWoman @ 12/21/2011 at 11:32 am

… need to say, and no longer can (read) but did when it was open. I know stuff. ;o) And you’re the primary reason I removed all links… especially to the first story… which was extremely erotic with me having Gerry “very accurately” depicted.

@WOW:

You go girl! I penned it F.E.A.R. (for everything a reason) in my first story. Have you seen The Adjustment Bureau? If so, do.
~K

@GerrysVeryFascinatingWoman:
At least you’re able to appreciate some of my spiritual ideas. At least we agree there if not on politics.
.
It was a reply to “Keepnitreal” but by mistake I linked my own comment that was the first reply to her. Also, someone flagged this comment but I complained to JJ and they restored it. I think some of my ideas threaten a lot of people who post here. JJ wouldn’t tell me who flagged it but I have an idea already.

@GerrysVeryFascinatingWoman:
.
You only wish I would read it…

GerrysGreenEyedWoman @ 12/21/2011 at 3:22 pm

@Manny:
No, you USED to read it (said here by you) but I booted you, and all his fans, making it private in April 2008.
-
Now with the exception of a month or two, which I’m sure you were over there, I closed them back down.
~K
whose last night’s post was way hot… damn I’m good at what I’m good at ;o)… and you know I am (air kiss)
-
@WOW:
I’m a liberal Democrat who feels all Republican candidates (if they can find one) are just making it easier for Obama’s reelection.
And I don’t need to agree with everything with people. Differences are what life is all about!
