Lady Gaga: It Still Hurts to Write a Check!

Lady Gaga: It Still Hurts to Write a Check!

Lady Gaga makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode airing Friday (December 9).

Here’s what the 25-year-old pop star, who performed “Marry the Night,” had to share:

On her dream acting role: “I don’t really know. I guess my dream would be to be in a Woody Allen movie or something. That would sort of be my dream.”

On why she doesn’t own a house: “I’m a gypsy, you know. I can’t plan my life out like that so much. Then I think, well, gosh. What a waste of money to buy a house and I’m on the road. Even though it might not seem like a big deal because I’m a pop singer or whatever it still hurts to write a check. It’s a lot of money … Everybody was laughing because when I signed my tax returns this year I had to get completely wasted. They were just holding me up. It’s unbelievable.”

    The only reason it hurt her to write the check for her taxes was because in the past it was her parents writing the big checks for Stephanie. Why does Gaga insist upon acting like she grew up poor? Or like she’s ever been poor or middle class?

    Stephanie was born into money, raised in money, went to elite NYC private schools and her singing/musical endeavors were happily paid for by her parents. She’s never been want for money.

    She sings about accepting yourself for who you are and being real, yet she loves to perpetuate the “poor artist” persona. Gwen Stefani grew up darn near poor by SoCal standards and when Madonna went to NYC to start her career is was piss poor. Gaga’s artistic struggle can be and probably was just as difficult as those two ladies but I just don’t get why she likes to pretend she grew up poor.

    @Mrs_Fuzzybee: i concur

    can’t believe she is only 25

    @Mrs_Fuzzybee: Exactly on her tour she said she had to sit way up in the back of MSG yet her mom could afford to hire xTina’s vocal coach when she was in H.S.. keep in mind Xtina was at the height of her career so hiring her coach had to cost a pretty penny. I don’t get ” I hate Money” when she has about 20 remix albums, 3 albums, holiday album, x book, Store of over priced junk @ Barneys, polaroid junk, oh and you can re buy the same albums to collect all the different covers they come in, Get Fame Monster with the exclusive black hair cover then again with the blonde hair cover. Ridiculous she put out more junk 3yrs than any celeb has in over 10.

    Man, I LOVE listening to rich people complain about paying taxes on their multi-millions.

    It doesnt matter what really happened 10 years ago, what matters is if she prefers working hard to forcing others to do it for her, as Madonna has and it shows duh
    If she hates paying taxes, move to Canada, at least they treat artists better and use the taxes astutely
    Celebrities are people too, not perfect anything
    and Americans should expect them to be MORE humble for what they have since as the average joe has a lot less each and every day

    Its not that she doesn’t want to see things as they actually happened, its just that she prefers to remember them in an artistic way.

    She’s so full of it. She comes from a rich family who never had money problems! She went to the same school as Paris Hilton for pete’s sake.
