This looks awesome, actually. Really. And everyone thought the first one would suck and it was great.

Wow!!!! I didn’t watch the first one (can someone tell me if I should?) but this one looks AWESOME. That scene on the side of the mountain gave me chills.

Pure, unabashed campy goodness. You go, Charming Potato!

I wonder why there is a second movie…because the first was not the best. and this trailer was boring or the cut was only disastrous…but bruce is cool and still great for this!

is it me or do you mostly see The Rock in this trailer ?
we barely get a glance at Channing Tatum, and I, for one, can’t stand that Dwayne Johnson guy, he’s just not a good actor
I’m not even sure he’s an actor period

corny as heck using riffs from the white stripes as trailer music!

Is Dwayne Johnson & Bruce Willis: ‘G.I. Joe 2 – Retaliation’ trailer. Channing Tatum get killed during the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Does Duke(Channing Tatum) really die right away?

I just dont understand why they would kill of Channing Tatums character and why they brought back, pretty much, no one from the first movie. The cast was one of the main reasons I liked the film!

Yeah, they killed off the crappy actor and brought on a slightly better 1. I think Bruce is good, he’ll be like DUKE classic so movie goers won’t feel the loss of Tatum, again yeah

this is retarded. how do you kill of the main character? aka duke hauser. seriously? review your comic books guys

Because like all “Hasbro” produced films you all fail to miss the point. Hasbro funds movies to sell their toy brands… hence forth you kill off old characters to sell new toys. They’ve been doing it since the 80′s. Hasbro is not here to entertain you, their movies are a great marketing tool. Transformers, G.I. Joe, even Battleship. When they released the Battleship trailer. They had the “new” Battleship ready for market. Don’t believe me, go check out your local toy store.
If they do kill off Duke in the intro scene I won’t be surprised. He’s been avoiding the question when interviewed. By dropping him in the trailer it’ll bring in a fair amount of female viewers. Bait, hook, line and sinker. Look at Executive Decision Seagal was co-billed in the original poster *Spoiler* and he died in the first act. He was just dropped in to bait people to see the movie. It’s smart marketing.
And these movies are not catered to the comic book crowd. There’s a reason why the comic book world is so dead and all our comics have been destroyed in movies. Because 90% of the world doesn’t care about that vision. It cares about what sells.

Killing the main character is a stupid idea..!! whatever that is, majority won’t like this movie.. when you start the movie it’s very important to keep the main character cuz that’s the glue for the whole idea. you may not like the Duke but he is the star in the first one! and changing the whole film to more realistic picture (suddenly!!!) i mean from whole city and all of those stupid technologies under the sea into normal guns and tech is just stupid.. so if you did not see the first movie which you shouldn’t , you might like this one cuz it is a whole realistic action movie with new stars. AND IT IS NOT G.I.JOE 2!!!! THEY SHOULD FIND ANOTHER NAME FOR IT CUZ THERE IS NO RELATION BETWEEN THESE TWO MOVIES…

@jacqueline: Uhmmmmm The first one did suk Channing is an anti-actor

@JJ:

Yeah, that’s much better than bringer back old characters and creating new ones and selling new actions figures for ALL of the characters.

its fine to kill some lead characters but DUKE? KILL DUKE?REALLY? then they should’ve put a diffrent title of the movie. and to ur point about action figures. new? the rock isnt new! ive got small nephews that has his action figures from way back when he was still in starting as a wrestler.case and point, this movie as of now has great action scenes than the first one.but im not gonna lie i liked the first one, cause seeing my g.i joes action figures was great, specially when they’re the characters that i grew up with, but now. the only good character that would make this movie a G.I joe movie is snake eyes. the movie was great but changing lead joe icon for ages was a dumb move. just sayin. thats why movies from comics or games SUCKS! anybody seen TEKEN? IT SUCKED BIG TIME! this i can say has great scenes but it will totally destroy the great foundation not to mention the LEGACY of the G.I joe’s.
