Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes & Suri: Tribeca Trio

Tom Cruise and wife Katie Holmes hold hands with their daughter, Suri, on Thursday (December 15) in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood.

The 49-year-old actor is back in the States after promoting Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol all around the world, most recently in Brazil and in England, with co-star Paula Patton.

Tom was spotted arriving in Manhattan via helicopter earlier in the day, while Katie took Suri to gymnastics class and FAO Schwarz the day before.

FYI: Katie is carrying a Clare Vivier red messenger bag.

    @Romeo:
    Actually Romeo, get your facts straight–they work more than Brangelina. If you go to IMDb and compare their schedules you’ll find Katie took the first two or three years of Suri’s life off, but then made up for it in the last three with more movies, TV shows, broadway show, fashion line etc. than Brangelina that’s for sure! Tom has been doing at least one film a year. Brangelina always has one parent with the children whether it is on set or keeping them at one of their homes. TomKat has had both parents working and Katie especially drags Suri with her no matter what tiem of the day or night. Brangelina’s kids have their faults. Several of them like Suri still have a blankie and several suck their thumbs (and Suri is still on the bottle and uses a pacifier) . But overall, I’d say the Brange kids are far better adjusted than Suri. You don’t see them consistently throwing fits, hiding their face, having to be carried, drinking from a bottle, and wearing inappropriate clothing (heels, make up, no coat etc). The JP kids tend to do age appropriate activities whereas TomKat drags a child to broadway plays that clearly state kids under 4-6 are not encouraged. They take her shopping constantly. They parade her about like she is a small dog on leash. Only time will tell which Hollywood kids turn out to be productive citizens. But Suri looks like a mini-Paris Hilton in training!

    I’ve meet Tom twice at movie premieres. He couldn’t have been any nicer to all the fans. I can’t wait to see him in the new MIssion: Impossible flick.

    @Wonder Woman:

    Because one has talent and the other doesn’t. Katie being the one without talent.

    @ng:

    Katie was on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ — which she CAN’T! It was an insult to have had her do the one arm lift then the other, then the leg, than the other moves with some of the most young talented dancers on the planet performing. She may love dance, but the woman can’t dance and can’t express herself on panel either.

    @theresa:

    If I tried throwing any type of tantrum ANYWHERE, my mother would pull my panties down and give me a good one. It never happened, because she gave us the ‘you better behave when we’re in store” before we left the house. My mother DID NOT play!

    who Says:

    Suri only acts the way she was raised and allowed to act. She will act the only way she knows how, and if she still throws tantrums and seems somewhat stunted emotionally still drinking from a bottle etc…, then the fault falls straight on her parents. If Suri doesn’t know any better then she can’t act any better. When she’s 18 and responsible for herself, then say something. Until then, she’s five and isn’t supposed to be raising herself. Put the blame on her parents and leave this child alone.

    I totally agree with #58 who. Whatever Suri is, it’s thanks to her crazy idiotic parents. Most 5 1/2 yo kids are long past throwing tantrums in toy stores (mine are!!) because they’re taught that it’s unacceptable behavior. Suri has not been taught. She wears what she wants instead of whats appropriate, behaves badly, and is generally a brat because she’s allowed to. And then she is rewarded with a sweet treat or a toy! A blazing moron can clearly see that all stems from poor parenting by a couple of raging imbeciles. Suri needs real parents to love her and teach her how to be a decent person. She doesnt have that, so the result is a spoiled brat with no limits. Its sad.

    @mary: I have never referred Suri as “Suitard” I am not vicious, spiteful, maybe a little.

    @Me too who:

    Exactly. I look at Isabella and even Connor and it’s easy to see that they had structure and boundries as children, I think Nicole had most or all to do with it frankly. Now I see Suri, her mom saying how she makes her own decisions at two years old, she’s a magical woman, in so many words…this little girl isn’t a woman yet and she isn’t supposed to be making her own decisions and rule the roost. Kids need structure and boundries to feel secure, not to have all the power over their parents. Her behavior is only what she was taught, it’s not her fault if she doesn’t know any better. It’s sad. Her parents on the other hand…

    Kara Says:

    @who: You are so right. When Katie was promoting the horrible movie “Mad Money” she referred to then two year old Suri as a “true artist” and a “strong young woman”. She was talking about her toddler daughter and it sounded so odd. You are so right to point out that the child has no structure whatsoever and that the other children had much more in the early years of their lives. As the years under the age of six are so critical in personal development, one has to wonder what kind of behavior will manifest itself when she gets older. It isn’t her fault that her parents are so ridiculously clueless. Boundaries and structure are things that children need both for their feelings of security and their well being.
