Amber Heard Talks Coming Out in Hollywood

Amber Heard fills up her Mustang at a gas station on Friday (December 16) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 25-year-old actress opened up about coming out, telling that she didn’t want to “be a part of the problem.”

“I personally think that if you deny something or if you hide something you’re inadvertently admitting it’s wrong. I don’t feel like I’m wrong,” Amber said.

“I’m proud to be on the right side of history and I can do nothing more than encourage people to look at their lives and ask, ‘What side of history am I on? Am I doing the right thing or am I doing the wrong thing?’” she added.

FYI: Amber is carrying Tory Burch‘s Patent Robison Satchel in Navy and wearing an Armani Exchange Military Trench.

She is beautiful. I am not gay, but I would be for her.

  • tina

    so classy. love her

  • Cara

    So beautiful …

  • tom

She’s like this modern version of Grace Kelly. Stunning and also talented!

  • Nala

@Asha: So I guess you’re on the “wrong side of history” then. Because you should know that being gay, lesbian or bisexual is not a lifestyle choice. To say you’d go gay is offensive.

  • SoCal

The more gay people the better!

  • Chris

Amber is so hot. Keep making movies and fighting for your believes!

  • xoxotracy

omg she’s a lesbian? finally a hot one!!!!!!!! no offense Im not into the butch thing. I would go gay for her, LOL.

  • Caitlin

Good for her. I wish it were that easy for a male actor to do it, but sadly Hollywood is still so narrow when it comes to leading men being out. Maybe one enlightened day!

  • William

She makes a lot of sense. I wish more people would use their head and their heart to fight the hate.

  • The80sRule

Grace Kelly was a one of a kind beauty AND she could act
    Stop making stupid comments!

  • So&So

Is it homophobic to not find being gay interesting or noteworthy??

  • Asha

@Nala: It wasn’t even that serious of a comment. All I was saying is that Amber is hot. I understand being gay is not a choice moron.

  • Michelle

wowee finally a hot les celeb (no thanks Ellen,Melissa,Rosie O) I wonder how many other hot young lesbian celebs there are? yumm.

  • Lisa

Amber is soooooo AWESOME ! please Jared post more about her

  • Filmreeler

I could care about anyone’s sexuality.

Just as long as they can act/sing/perform…that’s what I’m paying for.

BTw—she is so gorgeous would like to see her in more stuff.

  • stange

I don’t see why anyone in hollywood needs to come out? that is their private lives they do not need to make it public sorry is saying you are gay gonna make you more interesting or famous? it’s not like i go around say ”her guys im finally coming out i am straight” come on be gay if you wanna be gay just don’t make such a big deal out of it

  • mel

I have nothing about people sexual orientations but I find her statement wrong. I get what she’s trying to say. But implying that she’s “right” because she’s bisexual means that she finds it unusual, otherwise, she wouldn’t say she’s doing nothing “wrong” because there is no “right or wrong” when it comes to sexuality. It’s just different. And when you embrace differences, there’s nothing right or wrong.

  • mel

@stange: Exactly! She sounds bitter. If she wanted to say something, she should’ve said “I like men and I like women. It’s not wrong or right, it’s the way it is and some people like itand some people not and some people like chocolate and some people not and it’s just that”.

  • dasda

She’s so damn annoying. And I agree with Mel (comment #20)

  • wat

wait hold up so is she saying that celebs who don’t publicly announce their sexual orientation they’re on the wrong side of history??

  • mel

@wat: Exactly, her statement is on the wrong side of history

  • Brandon

Well she takes off her clothes for money and has no talent that’s all I need to know about her.

  • Peter

She needs to be in more movies, with better roles. She CAN act. She’s not just a pretty face, she’s really talented

  • jess
  • Emma

She is so BEAUTIFUL, i hope she in more movies

  • rubyqueen

their needs to be more celebrity’s like amber so open and honest.i don’t see how someone’s sexuality should affect their career.!!

  • lafamepoma

Amber is like from 50ths even she has a Mustang. She should’ve lived in another era

  • Glenda

I really love Amber. I think she is trying to say that her coming out was probably a very difficult choice between her remaining marketable and accepted in Hollywood. I think she took a leap and I respect her for that. Many celebs stay closeted even after death and I think she’s just trying to tell other young celebs it’s okay to be yourself. Side note, I love her classic car!!! She’s so classy! (^_^)

  • tina

    she is perfection

  • fobia

Well it’s easy to her to say she’s lesbian. Seems that every second startlet claims they are bi, as if it added something to their persona. Hmm, obviously it will do. Hollyweird and US in general is much more tolerant towards gay women than to the gay men. Double standards much..

  • FFer

    Moronic and boring…

  • lydia

She’s so beautiful it’s like getting kicked in the chest.

To everyone who’s questioning her meaning of ‘being on the wrong side of history’, I’m pretty sure she’s talking about people who hate others or condemn them for something that is not a choice like sexuality.
