‘Game of Thrones’ Helmer Alan Taylor to Direct ‘Thor 2′

Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor has been chosen as the director for the upcoming sequel to this summer’s blockbuster superhero flick, Thor.

Taylor‘s hiring comes just weeks after the departure of Patty Jenkins (Monster) from the project, which infuriated star Natalie Portman, who was excited to work with the director. Jenkins would have been the first female director of a major superhero movie.

Alan beat out fellow Games of Thrones helmer Daniel Minahan for the lucrative job, according to THR.

Thor 2 is expected to hit theaters in November 2013.

I’ll probably watch regardless to keep up with the Avengers universe (even though I felt the first was lackluster because of the lack of chemistry between Chris and Natalie), but I really hope they give Sif/Jaimie Alexander more to do in the second one. Hopefully she’s in it, at all.
