Gerard Butler: Glasgow for the Holidays

Gerard Butler arrives at the airport on Saturday (December 24) in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 42-year-old Scottish stud took a break from filming his latest movie, Of Men and Mavericks, to spend time with friends and family over the holidays.

Gerry is on the mend after a scary surfing accident earlier in the month – when a large outside set of waves came through, he was held down under water and hit on the head before finally being plucked out after the waves subsided.

    Tonto has mentioned Mother Teresa ( a woman I admire with all my heart)
    She’s said:

    “People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
    If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
    If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
    If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
    The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
    Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
    For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
    ― Mother Teresa

    I think it says it all.

    @redOctober: Evening ladies! RedO – this is one of my favorite MT sayings. Thanks for sending me off to sleep with these wonderful words.

    Also, CGE thanks for posting the Glasgow pics before JJ – he does look exhausted. Instead of enjoying the fun places in Glasgow (The Corinthian rocks in Glasgow and DiMaggio’s on Ruthven Lane has great food), he should get some much needed rest in the quiet highlands. You can’t burn a candle at both ends!

    Hope everyone is well! Ladies – have a fabulous Wednesday! Keeping you all in my best thoughts.

    What does he do with all the telephone numbers he asks for. Does he use it as a way to get away from people? A lot of the time when he’s out & about we’ve seen him with the phone glued to his ear & people suggested here that it’s a means to keep people from approaching him, a lot of the time the paps. Maybe when he’s trying to finish up a conversation the easiest thing to do so as not to offend is ask for their number. I can’t be seriously planning on making contact with all these people, how would he ever keep track of them all.

    @Swansong: Can you please shut the hell up? Good lord.

    On to the news above: Gerard Butler may look like this because he just got out of the hospital a week ago! You really think that someone who had a near death experience is really going to give a s h i t about his/or her appearance inside of an airport? The majority of the people here are just hypocrites for taking their anger out on him. You expect him to be walking around in Armani at the airport? He’s an Actor, not royalty. He’s a regular guy. Leave him alone!
    On another note, the guy is 42 now. Don’t expect him to look exactly like he did when he was the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. Understand that people are going to age. Those that are just criticizing him for what he looks like now, take a look in the mirror. You may not have any wrinkles now, but know that you will. Looks will fade, but know that if you have a personality that bites, no one is going to want you for that too. Think about it.

    LOL, Gerry’s outfit he was wearing to Glasgow is discussed. His shoes especially. Apparently, his sneakers are expensive.

    I wish I can answer you about his jewelry, but at least we know about his shoes lol.
    Also, the jacket he is wearing is the black puffed patent leather jacket we have seen him wear before.

    @wait a minute….:

    I think it’s pretty silly that he’s being critiqued for what he is wearing. I’m also glad to not be a celeb. It’s easy to insult someone’s looks while hiding behind a computer, but you have to wonder what these people that are doing the insulting see when they look in the mirror.

    wait a minute.... Says:

    I think celebs are always scrutinized about everything, including their outfits. If he were a woman, it would have been much worse.

    Anyway, I don’t think he cares what people think about him, especially on the internet. There is something about the internet that just feeds this kind of thing even more than the tabloids use to to do before the Internet.

    Summer Says:

    @wait a minute….:

    He’s a man, so he probably wouldn’t care that much. Depending on his ego. I was speaking of any celeb in general. What I find amusing is the ones insulting on gossip sites are probably the most insecure of people and possibly the least attractive.

    Sympathy Sucker Says:

    “Why people feel the need to attack someone for having a heart is beyond me.”
    The issue is not about having a heart you dummy. It’s about informing everyone on an anonymous forum that someone you know had died, all in an effort to gain sympathy and attention from a public forum where nobody even knows you or the deceased. That’s the real issue at hand, and the fact that an idiot like you and others here don’t recognize how pathetic it is, is really chilling. Gerard Butler threads are not the right venue for such things..

    Agreed, the issue is not about having a heart. We all have a heart and we all get totally horrified when we hear of such sad occurrences. However, sharing such information on a public board with strangers doesn’t mean you have a heart at all. I ado agree with you that it merely means you’re fishing for sympathy and for attention from other posters because you don’t have a good support system in your real life away from this website.
    Please consider the reason they have responded to your argument with such moronic posts claiming she has a heart. As if because she has a heart she has a right to post such stuff here. The reason is because many women judge everything based on emotions rather than common sense or facts. I’m sorry to say that women are not critical thinkers. They get swayed and make decisions based on feelings, not on empirical facts. I never get advice from any female unless it has to do with feminine issues. On everything else, thank God for men. You get clear, straight to the point, concise and concrete answers without the superfluous buIIsh!t that women add while missing the whole point of the issue at hand.
