Dakota Fanning Covers 'Elle UK' February 2012

Dakota Fanning strikes a pose on the cover of Elle UK‘s February issue.

Here’s what the 17-year-old actress had to share with the fashion mag (via StyleBistro):

On fame: “I just want to be an actress. I don’t really do anything attention-grabbing. Famous just sounds so pretentious. Who am I to call myself that word?”

On having a certain look in Hollywood: “People are always talking about this person who looks great and that person who doesn’t. It’s there, if you let it in. I let it in to an extent. I just don’t let it affect the choices I make.”

On younger sister Elle, 13: “She is incredibly free-spirited and totally wears her heart on her sleeve, you know exactly what she is thinking by taking one look at her. She’s just incredibly … I don’t know, I wish I could be more like her sometimes.”

but agreeing to be on multiple covers of magazines and agreeing to be the model and spokesperson for brands is attention-grabbing.
that’s not being just an actress anymore.
i dont understand why celebs always make contradictory statements.
they are so self-centered they cant see the contradictions in their own words & actions.

Dakota is cute and talented actress, but I don’t like this picture of her. She looks weird. And also I think think that Elle covers are not for teen girls. I dont understand why those teen actresses want to grow so fast by dressing inappropriate (but I’ve never seen Dakaota doing this kind of things yet), doing ads that are banned, anything that most time causes some contraversisies Go to Seventeen, Elle girl, Teen Vogue etc. This is just my opinion.

Dakota will be judged for not being a fashion girl, though. That’s just how the industry is. People are already saying that her 13 yo sister is more talented than her just because Elle is considered some kind of fashion muse/prodigy. Dakota is just doing it because it is what her profession calls girls her age to do. KStew, as indie and alternative as it gets in Hollywood, also does fashion mags.

@Dakota: No she’s just another hypocrite. Fine, do mags, clothes promotion etc but then don’t turn around and say ‘I just want to act’(Dakota) or complain about fame when u go around promoting itself in ads and mags (Kristen).

I agree with everyone saying she’s an hypocrite but I think she doesn’t eve nrealize about that which makes it funny because she also thinks she’s not pretentious when she’s actually sounding very pretentious lately. If she wants to be an actress, then she shouldn’t have signed onto Twilight and keep doing indie movies.

I’m feeling an Eva Braun biopic when I look at that picture. That would be one hell of a movie.

I love Dakota and I’d really love to listen to an interview of her parents…They must be really down-to-earth people to have raised such a down-to-earth (yet famous) young daughter…

@Morgan: You are just a stupid person. An actor especially hollywood has to pose for various magazine ,be ambassador for various ads etc etc .It is their job to be in the public eye all the time so that they are considered for a suitable project when it comes up.This is how the industry work. If you are out of sight you are out of mind.If the person is private they just fade away. Haven’t you notice even Kristen Stewart who claimed to be a private person has employed an army of P.R team. They keep the actors in public eye constantly in some form either controversy or singing praises that their client is perfect, genuine, not a fame-***** etc.
Every person that chooses acting as a profession is a fame-***** how much ever they deny it. Because that is how this place works. They cannot survive otherwise. Any actor/actress that says that they hate limelight is a hypocrite.
