I had posted this earlier, but for some reason JJ had me on hold for moderation. I am still trying to figure that out.

@#89–PR Pro—You made an excellent point. The creature now only gets attention again with the pap calling on herself, going to the salon, the vet and my favorite the paps innocently finding her and MP and his poor daughter at a crowded mall, with her holding hands with that poor teenage girl and making sure the paps got the photos of the hand holding. She wanted a perfect little family photo op, she is so desparate because she has nothing coming up in the New Year, and will do anything to stay relevant.
So of course her loonies get mad, they actually think she deserves to get attention. What a laugh.

#99–STOP—I know I said I wasn’t going to respond to any of these awful posts, but this one bothered me more than the rest. Have you seen any of AS’s films? Honestly he has been in this business for a very long time and each and every role he has ever taken on, whether here or in Sweden, are completely different and he brings something special to each and every role. I really don’t think you have seen anything he has done because I don’t think you could say the things you are if you had seen PUSS or Generation Kill, for instance. The only one here that is coked up is KB and it is widely known throughout HW, we aren’t making that up. Yes, AS drinks and he has never hidden that, on the other hand everyone that the creature comes into contact with knows about her drug habit. OB did not fire RB either after the break up, in fact I believe she still represents him, she is one of the biggest publicists around and I think AS gave her an offer she couldn’t refuse, he took control of his publicity and RB has to come to AS before she pulls her stunts, he decides when to be papped now, not her and her games. RB knows the money maker he is and will be. AB has said more than once how that AS is the sweetest and hardest working guy he has ever worked with and was thrilled with his casting. KB even lost Ryan K, who used to help her after the nightmare know as WW and the fact that, that was part of the reason he was fired or demoted, whichever you want to call it. She only has paid for friends, in 10 yrs in this business she has not one friend that isn’t on her payroll, that has to tell you something. AS only keeps making friends and contacts in this business, whereas KB once again only has the people she pays(by the way, did your check clear, this month), and little by little her circle gets smaller and smaller. Her reputation in HW, which none of us have made up is that of box office poison, a pariah and an extremely unpleasant and nasty person to work with.

@#98–Camille–You are so right, when AB writes the scripts they are just awful, also when he directs they aren’t so hot. He really needs to step back for the upcoming season and let the others take control, Alexander Woo writes amazing scripts as do the two young women whose names I can not think of. That is why I was so glad the executives at HBO stepped in last season, and took control and gave the fans what they wanted up until that last episode. We all can only hope for the best this season.

I am the same person, duh…. kylianna… I double posted cause I thought my first email account didn’t work on my first post and it wasn’t posted but it did after I posted a second comment under my other email account. No conspiracy here memaw…that is why I think his fans are crazy. They make a big thing out of nothing and lady form TX your 54 for god sake lol a little long in the tooth to be hounding around on a gossip site…

  • Bjella

Hate to break it to you crazy people, but Fivehead can’t act out of a dirty litter box. If it wasn’t for Fivehead Senior AKA Stellan, he wouldn’t be in this industry.

  • anna

Old ladies harassing one another are his crazy fan base and you all prove it over and over again. I make a comment that I post twice under my real names then all of a sudden a conspiracy flies. Comedy!

  • Bjella

Sorry to break it to you crazy people but Fivehaed can’t act his way out of a dirty litter box. If it wasn’t for Fivehead Sr. AKA Stellan, he wouldn’t even be in this industry. So get out of lala Land for god sakes.

@Cafélady: lots of wine a hot bath and a wonderful hubby with great hands for back rubs ;-) ….it’s always the worst when it’s kids ….adults are just irresponsible and from what I have been reading ignorant ….but kids? What do they or possibly could they do to be beaten to the point of death? All I want is 5 minutes and a bat ….OK on topic I hope this next season is better or I will want to kill them all myself especially Sookie

  • PRPro

If anyone seriously thinks the commenters here are truly representative of Alexander’s fan base they need to get their head read. regardless which side of the coin you are on, it really does seem only a maximum of 10 ppl constantly posting, one way or another.

@ladybug: Riddarfjärden is so beautiful and serene there. It is usually a hustle bustle of people making connection for one island or the other. It is pronounced rid a fyor den. Thank you for that link. I long to return there once again if for no other reason to walk the places my husband and I walked. It is a beautiful place.

mforman I appreciate you coming to my defense with STOP but I think she has something personal to rip me about. Maybe she was one of the fans who got turned away from his set while filming “Disconnected”, or he did not have time to take a pic with her somewhere. She is definitely hinting at personal knowledge of him to be able to state he is a phony(otherwise how would she know) or that he gets his roles through ‘daddy’. She must have have inside info to know these things for I have never seen anything in print or on video about either one. I ‘have’ heard many folks say exactly the opposite about him. Folks I know have first hand knowledge. And I have my own history to rely on. I think she is going to find many reasons to stay on me for a while and it is ok. I am a big girl…no I am a big, strong, and emotionally mature woman who can take the heat. ;)

@mforman: I suspect moderation is done by an automated matrix, it’s too fast for humans to tag. Of course, it’s an inconsistent matrix. Which goes back to how much is JJ willing and able to spend to upgrade some of the features on the site.
@”in my 54 years I have led a very full and diversified life. And I have had fun along the way. I am working on a book to be released upon my death{which I hope is a long way off} that tells of my adventures in words and pictures.” Why wait until death? I’ve taken a vow not to die until the Chicago Cubs win the World Series, so I’ll know I’ll be alive to read it, but what if I’m greedy and want to read it sooner? :)
@Camille, I know that they were well aware of the fan outcry after the inconsistency of S3, and yet they didn’t really improve much in S4, so I agree, they don’t really know what the fans want.

  • texas swede

@anna: If you knew anything about me…and if you were a regular reader of Alex’s thread you would know that before my lupus stopped me I worked in the business. I am a professional photographer.now I am able to do only 1 or 2 shoots a year. As for 54 being a little too old…ask me that when u are 54. My daughter is raised and away at college. I cannot do my sewing anymore or my beadwork. half of the time in winter I must use a walker and oxygen to live and get around. You tell me what I should do. I would love to be active and out in the world but my body says no. So I stay informed thru the net. This last 3 days I have posted more than I have all year.
    ******************
I was an Alex fan long before anyone in the states knew who he was. Yes even before Zoolander. I lived in Sweden with my late husband who worked for the government for many years and became a fan then. I am a fan of his talent. I am too old to be a fan of his looks. He reminds me of my little brother.
    *******************
Now if you have any suggestions for this longtoothed old hag as to what to do with her time I am all ears. Until then maybe you should remember and respect the things your parent taught you about respecting your elders and walking a mile in someone elses shoes before insulting someone because of their age.

  • Camille

    @ladybug:
The fans have been asking for less side stories pretty much every season, and every season they go off on tangents that take up too much time. You’d have thought they’d have learned their lesson with the maenad but they seemingly didn’t with all the weres and witch crap.

I wish we’d get some set photos or sneak peaks of storylines so we’d have something more to work with in terms of the direction they might go.

  • Macy

Wow, I go away for the weekend and all hell breaks loose! Jeez, what’s with all the fighting? Just continue to talk about regular stuff and don’t worry about what people who want to bait you have to say. Alex looks great in these new photos. I’m glad we finally got a glimpse of him.

@texas swede: @Camille: I agree, they need more focus on this show. There are too many superfluous characters and sidebars. They killed off a lot last season, but from the sounds of the casting calls they’re just going to bring in a whole bunch more. I really hope Alexander Woo’s comments are pointing in a positive direction but with Ball at the helm I have my doubts.

  • ladybug

@texas swede: The last week I was in Stockholm I intended to walk all over the places I’d missed or wanted to see more of but I ended up with a massive head cold and basically sat near where the webcamera is situated now and vegetated.
I’m violating my own rule and am going to talk about the troll (which no doubt makes it tingly all over, down to its rancid little toes), but I’m pretty sure it’s just making up stuff up. And I think it’s been here before but under a different moniker. It’s a persistent little bugger, like a rabid chihuahua (resets phasers to ‘ignore’).

  • Macy

@ladybug: I think there may be one or two people who actually get some of the flags but I would suspect that there are far too many to be monitored by people constantly. It’s like his crappy swear filter. It filters out the weirdest words.

  • ladybug

@Camille: The less side stuff seems to be a pretty much universal request, no matter what Team you’re on. And it’s something AB and team seem determined to ignore.

  • Camille

    @ladybug:
I don’t know what it is about that guy, but he doesn’t seem to give two sh*ts about what the fans want. He says that he does, but his ideas are totally twisted. The shower scene is case in point. He knew people wanted that badly, and he knew they wanted it as close to the book as possible and he completely chose to botch it. I don’t think it’s an accident that he ended up writing that specific episode either, with the stupid dialogue and veering so far off path with that scene. I think he did it on purpose to say “I threw you some semblance of a bone, but this is my show, and I don’t care how much you whine”. Like I said, I’m convinced he hates how much attention Eric/Alex has gotten.

  • texas swede

@Camille: @Camille: I think you are right. I think Alex’s portrayal of Eric drew far more attention than he wanted. It messed up Alan’s direction from the start. And I think he is messing with the character to get Alex not to resign after this season. I think he met with some personal upset along the way that influenced his fluctuating with certain characters. If anyone involved with that show has an inflated ego it is Alan Ball. He may have created it but HBO owns it. And they will go for what is best for the show. The only thing is….Will they act soon enough to save it?

  • mforman

@#167—Camille and #168–texas swede—-You guys are both right, at the beginning of this show AB had a specific plan for the show, he was totally in charge and then AS just took off. It all started when the fans got together and made that ridiculous wig disappear. After that the HBO executives releazied that AS was the main draw and AB did not like losing control.

Too bad AB’s ego is so big, this is what happened with SIx Feet Under, it is his way or no way, but this time the HBO executives took control and that is why we got as much of AS and of Eric and Sookie as we did last season, they even made sure his name was moved from where it was.

I really think that is why he was offered another deal with HBO, they wanted him to take a step back and then they could step forward with who they want to run things and also get more involved.

It is not like we are asking for the books to be followed exactly, seriously there is no fun in that, but he got on this run of Bill and Sookie and just wont let it stop, it is not what the fans want.

The worst part is that he doesn’t care what the fans want, he cares about what he wants and that is not what the creator of a hit show wants, he wants input from not only his fans but more importantly his cast and crew.

#159—texas swede–There is no thanks necessary, you and I think about 3 others will always have me defending you, because like me you just don’t base your fandom on his looks but mostly on his talent. The most ridiculous part of what STOP is saying is that Stellan gets AS his parts, when in each and every interview we read from each of them they both state that is the furthest thing from the truth. That is one of the many reasons I know she hasn’t seen any of AS’s movies, she is just on here to start trouble. I too have watched all of his Swedish films, from when he was just a teen until all of his success now and what is great is that not only does he get better and better, but the roles he and his father play couldn’t be more different from each other. Like AS says they are more like buddies than father and son.

  • Canuck

Ladies. Our little basement gnome friend is the same person who is busy talking to himself. He’s desperate for attention and too dumb to hit the Brad Pitt threads where there are way more people to try and taunt.

I agree with that Ball doesn’t actually give a hoot about what the fans of the show really want. There are times though, particularly this last season, that he drops little and not so little hints that “Saint” Bill still enjoys hurting people. He’d obviously put Sookie behind him judging from how much he seemed to be enjoying the trappings of power, something he had no trouble letting Sookie see. And when he glamoured Portia? That last little bit about “running away screaming” if she saw him? Totally gratuitous meanness.

  • mforman

@#170—ASIB—There truly is something wrong with you. I am glad to see your check cleared and you are back to insulting an extremely well liked, respected and very talented actor, also insulting people who come on here just to talk and not hurt anybody. Boy that must make you feel very, very good about yourself, because you obviously have nothing else.
It must have been killing you waiting for him to pop up again, so the creature could make sure your check was waiting.

Just remember the saying about karma.

  • ladybug

@Canuck: I liked Portia, strong woman. So of course we’ll never see her again.

  • Canuck

@ladybug: Yes, I liked her too. So why make a character like that run away shreiking like a ninny?

  • Macy

You guys are right. The women on this show are so annoying. They whine constantly, not to mention bawl their faces off almost every episode. Their book characters would be ashamed of them. Allan Ball has really odd ideas about how women should behave and about relationships. I know he hates happiness, but you know what? That’s a REAL part of life. You can’t make everyone miserable all the damn time, it gets old. Just like if everyone’s always happy it gets old. You need a good balance of that, and he doesn’t seem to get that at all. It’s happy for 5 minutes and then chaos. I don’t know if he does that to hide weak plots and dialogue or what the reason is, but it’s sucking the life out of his show.

  • DeeDee

Ive stopped reading the books altogether. In my opinion, Charlene Harris has jumped on board with the show and seems to be only “filling in” her obligation to write the last few books, they are just horrid.

I gave up on the show in the middle of last season, and when I heard about Sookie’s inability to make a choice, I didn’t even watch the last few episodes on demand. Its just not worth it. I’ve also picked up Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, both of which I now have an addiciton to :)

As for the future of TB…while I don’t wish for cancellation, and I don’t wish for exact book storylines, I do wish the integrity of the story to be upheld. Eric saved Sookie countless times not Bill. Eric made sure Sookie’s needs were met, not Bill. Bill was almost killed off, he has an entirely new love interest and while he and Sookie maybe talking, they are nowhere near lovers or anything of the sort. TB’s idiolization of the Vamp who raped a character has not only ruined a very necessary part of the story line, but it has turned Sookie into a weak mess of a female that is just annoying to watch in her attitude. The character in the books, at least thinks things thru, the character in the show is a weak minded, back talking female that deserves to be smacked around a few times in the hopes that she gets some sense. I’m curious to see how much of a whore they turn her into on the show, cause from they way the writers seem to be taking this, she will have a new lover this season. Its just sad to see such a loved book character so terribly twisted.

  • Canuck

@DeeDee: Agreed. I can see it coming from a mile off… “I love you both so much I can’t decide so I won’t have either of you because I can’t stand to hurt one of you. But it’s ok if I hurt you both by boffing some other guy, which btw, I’m only doing because I love you both so much.”. eyeroll…

  • DeeDee

    @Canuck:

Its going to happen, the only question is will it be Alcide or are they gonna bring in Quinn??? sigh, eye roll, drum of fingers.

  • DeeDee

And just out of curiosity, why isn’t the Skarsgard article at the top of the Jared story list? WIth over 180 hits/comments, it has to be a top article, yet Aaron who ever engaged to some chick with only 15 comments is listed above….curious…..

  • Canuck

@DeeDee: No clue how that works. Alcide… So romantic… we have no passion forceach other so lets date.

  • texas swede

Let’s face one fact about Alan Ball….he hates women! His portrayal of southern women as weak minded, frail, not too bright, and annoying as all get out is one of the biggest let downs of TB. His idea that Sookie could forgive someone for having her beat to near death is totally ludicrous. And the strong minded woman Sookie was intended to be never had an affair with Alcide, only an attraction and friendship. She knew he would never be over Debbie in his heart.{wolves mate for life} So if he takes it there we will know he is purposely doing things to piss fans off. He thinks we will keep forgiving him like his Sookie does Bill and keep watching.
    ***************************
And BTW if any of you are feeling sorry for me cease that bull right now! I am a very happy woman. I have many things in my life to be thankful for and things to do. Long time no see :-) I haven’t been posting in a while but have read most of the Alex threads since. For you book fans, did you know that Charlaine has posted an excerpt of chapter 2 of the new book Deadlocked on her website? It doesn’t give too much away so no spoiler alert necessary, IMO…
    http://www.charlaineharris.com/Deadlocked_2.html
Also, apparently, Charlaine’s last Sookie book, Dead Reckoning, was on Entertainment Weekly’s list of Worst of 2011. WTH? I admit, it wasn’t as good as some of the other books in the series but she didn’t deserve this at all. Here is what she wrote on her blog:

    December 20, 2011

    Blog

There’s something to be said for hitting rock bottom. As I was drinking my first cup of coffee Sunday morning, I was reading my favorite magazine, Entertainment Weekly. I’ve been a faithful subscriber for many years, and I remember how excited I was when my name was in its pages for the first time, when Alan Ball began filming “True Blood.”

I was in the pages of EW again in the year-end issue: “Best and Worst of 2011.” My book, DEAD RECKONING, was designated one of the worst of the year, along with a book by the ubiquitous Kardashians and one by Snooki of “Jersey Shore” fame.

At first I really couldn’t believe it. Though I fully realized DEAD RECKONING was not a perfect book, I knew I’d read worse during 2011. Then I realized that the criteria must have been, “bad books by someone famous.” Still, it stung pretty badly, as you can imagine.

I was pretty philosophical about the experience until my inner insecurities began to plague me. Most writers have plenty of those, beginning with the suspicion that we are actually no good at all and that someday someone will discover this . . . no matter how healthy our bank account may be, or how brisk sales have been.

I was secretly hoping my agent would challenge the article’s writer to a duel. Then I realized that if anyone did that, it should be me, and I was feeling way too pitiful.

I hope I don’t experience anything more humiliating in my professional life. This kind of capped off a very eventful 2011 for me, because I’ve had a number of thunderbolts, both personal and professional. Next year simply HAS to be better.

  • Canuck

@Mia: DR was pretty far from her best effort. Some of the parts in it really left me wondering “wtf” since things were very out of character for some people and there were other bits that contradicted what she had written in earlier books. Plus of course, the sneaking suspicion that she getting ready to pull an “Alan Ball” on us, re: Eric and Sookie. I can see why it may have made the list from a “Really expected better from her” point of view and also a “don’t you DARE go down the road you look to be heading for” point of view. CH, in that she already knows where she’s heading and how it’s going to end, may not have “gotten” that the last book left readers feeling a bit betrayed, since WE obviously don’t know where she’s heading and where it will end like she does. But she did seem to want to sweep the floor clean several story lines and it wasn’t always done very adroitly.

  • Mia

@Canuck: I agree with you. Lots of valid points. However, I do not think she deserved such harsh criticism. We already know that Sookie will not end up with a vampire as much as we want her and Eric to be together forever. CH has said that many times before. I think at the end, CH will put Sookie with Sam or maybe even Alcide although Alcide acted completely out of character in the last book and made a fool of himself. If it has to be anybody other than a vampire, I am rooting for Alcide. I find him more exciting and sexier than Sam. I am curious as to how Sookie will use the cluviel dor. For the final book, I wonder if CH will jump to the future where Sookie is old and gray and Eric visits her on her death bed. BTW, it’s very nice reading through the books yet again and picturing Alex as Eric. He is the perfect Eric.

  • texas swede

@Mia: Here is hoping she uses the cluveil dor to release Alex from his marriage bond. But knowing her she will probably use it to protect Hunter. With Niall’s power I think Felipe would be convinced to leave her alone. ………..I still think DR was meant to leave a lot open to make the final book more thrilling. Look at all the different things we all want. There is no way to keep everybody happy.

  • Canuck

@Mia: Where did she say that Sookie wouldn’t end up with a vampire? I know she’s said that Sookie wouldn’t ever BE one, but that’s the first I’ve heard of her not ending up with one.

“lots of wine a hot bath and a wonderful hubby with great hands for back rubs ;-) ….”

Sounds great…:) Have you ever tried a hot stone treatment too?
I think, somehow one must find a way to relax, the body AND mind – otherwise one can’t bear some scenarios like the one you’ve mentioned every day again and again…sometimes it’s unbelievable and very sad what humans can do against others, especially when kids are the victims.
    *********
You’re right with the tb-version of the sookie character. Sometimes it’s very annoying what AB did with her. But unfortunately I must say, harris had a bit this direction too in her books. I mean, with every book I had more and more the feeling she makes her every time more immature than before. At least and especially after book 6/7. And I hated this almost the same like that what they did partial with the tb-sookie too.

    @texas swede:
Good idea, this thing with the book you want to write. It would be definetely something I would like to read too. :) But why waiting? I mean 54 is a good age to write memoirs. :) I mean if one consider that these days some teens are forced to feel to write their ‘memoirs’ already…*eye roll*
    ************
Please, forget this impudent and stupid troll – no one is ‘too old’ having some fun! :) However he or she can have it.
And I believe I said it earlier already – I’m sorry to hear that with your illness (it isn’t meant pitiful in a negative sense). And I have a lot of respect for you if I hear how you are handle with it. That’s very impressive. And I find the things great you do now instead of the things you would do if you weren’t ill.
And the troll – well…there is a german saying: “It’s easy to judge someone in a situation, in which oneself still never had to act before.” (hope I’ve translated it right).
Obviously he/she still has to make this experience…
