Paula Deen: Diabetes Diagnosis

Food Network star Paula Deen is about to announce her struggle with diabetes, sources are telling The Daily.

Paula Deen is going to have to reposition herself now that she has diabetes,” said one source. “She’s going to have to start cooking healthier recipes. She can’t keep pushing mac and cheese and deep-fried Twinkies when she is hawking a diabetes drug.”

The 64-year-old Queen of Southern Cooking reportedly has a multimillion-dollar deal in place with a pharmaceutical company to endorse the drug she’s taking.

Paula has yet to confirm any of the rumors about her reported diabetes.

Cannot believe that anyone would use their image to help sell a medicine in exchange of money! She doesn’t have the appropriate skills to judge whether or not the medication she’s been prescribed is good for her diabetics fans. This can be a death sentence for her followers. What the hell is wrong with these people?!!! How can anyone do that?! That’s literally taking advantage of her fans’ potential stupidity. Hope they’ll be smart enough not to follow her into this project.

I don’t think anyone is surprised by this news. This whole scenario illustrates what’s wrong with the American diet: eating to excess and gluttony and then using drugs to “fix” the problem. Instead, we need to figure out moderation, conscious eating and regular exercise.

Look, I’m sorry but making food like this is not what makes you diabetic. It’s eating it exclusively, and in large quantities. People who take care of themselves should feel no guilt in having this kind of food when they want it.

Eat what you want. Just make sure to get enough of the nutrients you need to be healthy and spend some time excercising every week. It’s not that hard. If you personally do not understand what it takes to avoid giving yourself a chronic disease, then talk to your doctor and have them book you a dietician.

And if you have Type II diabetes in your family history, understand that the risks are higher for you and you need to do the right thing or it will come to you as well.

You say “…it’s not that hard…” Well, if it was that easy, MILLIONS of people wouldn’t have diabetes! You think you know what you’re talking about and you don’t! You do not know all of the reasons that cause diabetes and the complications that are involved with getting it. Even the doctors don’t know why everybody gets diabetes. STOP MISLEADING people!! Millions of people struggle every day and think they are mental cases because so many people say “…it’s easy…” Millions will tend to disagree with you!! Get a brain!
