Morgan Freeman says at his house the Cecil B DeMille award is known as the Sidney Poitier award.

Clooney.. not again.. this better not be the case at the Oscars,.

  • miapocca

by nominating jolie in the foriegn movie categories the whole show became a farce!!…as always bought and paid for till totally undenaible…fassbender was the man to win, he was just shouldered out by clooney and brad pitt is one of those who will never wim till death…
if he and jolie hate hollywoiod and movies so much what do they expect

  • creed

George Clooney did NOT deserve it!!
Leonardo Dicaprio AND Michael Fassbender should have been no brainers.

Anyways, The Descendants was more of a Dark Comedy.

  • sj

clooney again. seems like i’m not going to waych Oscar.

    Fassbender is best

  • Mmmm

    Clooney? What a joke.

I hope Brad Pitt isn’t even nominated for an Oscar now.

  • creed

The only part that I liked was when George said Michael fassbender had a huge Dong.

  • mary

well, at least we know that George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Michelle Williams,Octavia Davis, Jean DuJardin and Christopher Plummer will all more than likely be nominated for Oscars.

  • marilyn

why did they ever invite Ricky Gervais back as host. Thank God Billy Crystal is doing the Oscars; at least he has more class. I would love to know what Antonino Banderas said to Ricky on stage.

  • Toni

I’m happy to see The Artist win and the dog was adorable.
Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite actors so to see him win was happy for me and his statement toward Sidney and looking at Sidney look emotional made me happy too.
I wanted Viola to win, but Meryl was my second choice to win so I have no problems there.
I was happy to see Martin win too. I feel he’s been due too many awards in the past for his work.
Was happy to see Kate win that award.
I like George, but man I wanted Leo to win. Maybe his role wasn’t too great or something, but I would like him to win. I guess he’s going towards Great Gatsby since I really don’t see it happening Oscar wise for him.

  • Toni

Wait did anyone see the look on Elton’s face when Madonnna won? He was throwing shade at her and I heard he said something before the show started.

Did anyone even see Clooney’s performance in The Descendants? I thought he was incredible, almost real. I would say he was better than Brad Pitt. But I do think that if it weren’t Clooney give the award to Fassbender. But the awards are political and they may delay Fassbender’s ‘time’ considering his promising career as a successful actor.

I’m very happy with The Descendants and The Artist winning. I wish Viola Davis won Best Actress though. I’m also happy for Octavia Spencer, but so would’ve loved to have seen Jessica Chastain or Shailene Woodley take that award.

Leo was good in J. Edgar but my distaste for the film made me not wish Leo won that award. If Leo were to win his first Oscar I’d want it to be a GREAT film he won it for. I love Clint Eastwood but J. Edgar was a flop. Seriously guys, give Clooney a chance, I don’t like him much either but his performance was captivating. Leo won’t win this awards season, just KNOW that much. I’m rooting for Clooney and Fassbender at the Oscars.

Also, so HAPPY Woody won for Midnight In Paris, although Woody always rejects these awards shows. He never accepts awards. He never even accepted for Annie Hall! Somehow I find that amusing. But I just adore the guy so much. It shows that you don’t need awards. Just let these people do what they love best.

  • prollo

don´t like george as an actor, but his peformance in this movie is really good!

although i would have liked michael f to win..

did you see clooneys speech?it was funny..but also a bit akward..he dissed jolie a little.
the way he pronounced that he is happy to see BRAD was on purpose..that´s clear.

  • poplpp

clooney totally dissed jolie in his speech.
the way he pronounced “BRAD”–i like to see “BRAD” was weird.
he clearly can´t stand´s obvious..also when she presented..the way he behaved..was really weird.
    what happened between them?
somebody knows that?-i´m just curious..hollywood is such a freekshow.

  • Linda G

a VERY boring show. Gervais was barely amusing. I’m done wasting my time watching it.. Its gotten OLD.

  • A

I have a feeling that Brad Pitt will be nominated for an Oscar, and win.

  • seizer

brad pitt will forever be a nominated actor. just googled him and he has NEVER on anything. pure comical, leo should have won best actor

  • Jen

Why bother to have the category “best actress in a musical or comedy” when the one who wins, wins it for a movie that is NOT a musical or comedy??!! It’s idiotic! Nothing wrong about Michelle Williams performance. She’s great, but “My Week with Marilyn” is not a comedy! She should be nominated in the Drama category.

  • Bleh

Man, it seems like all the famous Hollywood actors attented GG. Never seen such ceremony.

As for winners, where is M. Fassbender and Jessica Chastain???? How many times will the same actors win those awards??? Why Clooney??? Ughhhh nooooo. Please God, don’t let this happen in Oscar.

  • oy

Why did Meryl Streep dress like Temple Grandin?

  • Mary

    Matt LeBlanc!! That’s great!!

  • desiree brackin

I think the golden globes and oscars are rigged…and even peoples choice awards this year….I have been dissapointed that one Harry Potter thing won ,,,,, and was not even put up for an award,, we have seen those kids become wonderful actors…not to mention they took most of the money end…dont they base any of this on what a picturedoes,,,just sayin

  • notsogood

I don’t think Leo deserved the award.

  • whatever!

@marilyn – you are joking right Ricky Gervais has got more backbone than most of these presenters. As he said Hollywood needs to take his jokes on the chin – they are spoilt pampered lot!

  • liz

why were they all so sally-sensitive tonight? ricky G. was hilarious but they all looked like moody teens.. you make millions you can afford to freakin smile!!

  • sammie

agreeddddd they all acted like babies
they all try to be ‘humble’ 2 keep a clean rep but they all (well, most) just seem like they need 2 remove the stick up their ass

  • gogogadgetgirl

    Octavia Spencer**

  • I say…

Yey, for Ricky G for bringing those “stars” back to the ground!!!

  • tx

@liz: the only one who took it in stride was jodie foster. even johnny depp was being a grumpy bastar*d

  • fazz

Fassy was robbed! But I’m not surprised… why does hollywood love George Clooney so much? He’s not the great actor they make him out to be. So glad Meryl won at least, she was flawless as thatcher.

  • marilyn

Rick Gervais has zero class and should never be allowed to host another show again. The people in charge of the Oscars won’t let him within 1000 feet of their stage. for the record, Rick’s jokes belonged in a bar or a night club.

  • yep

I was so happy that George won! I am not a Clooney fan however he was awesome in The Descendants! I am happy for all of them and hope George wins the OSCAR! GO GEORGE!

  • Ali

whoever dressed Meryl Streep should find another profession. Dreadful dress – made her look wide as a house.

love her, though. And clooney, and pitt, and jolie, and leo, and mara… great show.

  • Ryanpeterson832

@offtheproperty: That was classy but the fact that he left his wife for his grandaughter ruined any respect I had for him.
