Book of Mormon's Andrew Rannells Books NBC Comedy!

The Book of Mormon star Andrew Rannells has landed his first high-profile television gig!

The 33-year-old Broadway actor is set to play one of three leads in an upcoming NBC comedy created by Glee‘s Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler.

The show “is described as a heartwarming comedy about a blended family of a gay couple and the woman who becomes a surrogate to help them start a family,” according to Deadline.

While the show has not yet been ordered to pilot, it is expected to receive the greenlight as it resulted in a bidding war between the networks.

Congratulations Andrew!!!

I love Andrew Rannells, but I loathe Ryan Murphy. I like how they take a musical theatre actor/singer and put him in a non-music related comedy, and they have all those kids on Glee who can’t sing in sining roles. Brilliant casting.
