Lana Del Rey: 'Born To Die' Preview Clips!

Check out these new sample tracks from Lana Del Rey‘s debut album Born To Die, in stores January 30.

The 25-year-old singer posted preview clips of her songs “National Anthem” and “This Is What Makes Us Girls” on her YouTube account.

Lana spoke to Fuse TV days before her Saturday Night Live appearance last weekend and said she does not like performing live.

“You can’t expect too much from my show,” Lana said. “Sometimes I feel less nervous than other times. I don’t love live television. The only tip I have is just pray and just hope that things work out.”

Not TV, is way natural, the light are differents, and the audience is less important than a national TV, so you’re not so nervous about it.

Oviously you don’t know anything about a live concert.

  • Jess

@Mlllllle: “the audience is less important than a national TV” — LOL. Wow, you don’t know much about concerts either.

  • Samantha

Um, didn’t her father “buy” her into the biz? She had no business being on SNL.

If she was just singing the songs I wouldn’t have paid that much attention to her – but her writing, her voice, the mood of her songs convinced me that she’s actually very talented.
She is good stuff, a breeze of fresh air in the pool of music industry.

i know some people dont like her but she has more talent and class then many of the mainstream singers today. She gets nervous during live performances but she can sing and her songs are good.

  • Joshua

She didn’t even sound that bad on SNL! She was super nervous, but for the most part her vocals were decent. Also, I really like these! I prefer the demo of “National Anthem” though, because it’s just more powerful I feel.

I’m probably going to upset some people with my comments, but hear me out before you judge. I’ve been performing on Broadway my whole life. I still get nervous before every performance. Having said that, if you want to make it in show biz, you can’t let the nerves show. Ever. Had I performed like her, I’d be out of a job before the curtain call. Sorry, but I’m tired of hearing the ‘she was nervous’ or ‘she tried’, nonsense. She wants to be a performer, she had better learn how to deal with it.

This music… even when it’s at its “best” can only be enjoyed by “deep” and “thoughtful” hipsters who sip coffees imported from sad third world nations while they brood in their wannabe khmer rouge scarves and skinny jeans. Someone tell Lizzy’s dad he’s buying her into the wrong market.

  • I’ve got something in my throat… oh yes, it’s this girl everyone keeps trying to shove down it!

  • Chloe

I didn’t watch the SNL bit, but I have heard other live performances of Video Games . She sounds sleepy, droning, and uninterested. Have you seen the video for Born to Die? She’s making out with a guy and in a skimpy outfit. How is that classy or different than the other pop singers?

  • Sabrina

I can totally relate to this woman. Her music is amazing!!!!!! I can’t say the same thing for Rihanna, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Lady Gagag, Britney Spears They are all terrible!!!!!!!! Lana has QUALITY MUSIC!

  • speaktruth

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Just hope it works out? How about work your butt off and put yourself in the best position possible for success? Guess that’s too “generic.” It seems like she’s just saying stuff for headlines. If she was good, that’d be one thing. But the SNL proved that wrong…

Lana Del Rey needs a good David Lynch part in his next ingenious film full of bad actors acting badly. Young girl goddesses like her know how to rejuvenate the careers of older men. If she can act as brilliantly as she can sing in her videos, who wouldn’t want a piece of that action?
