“Acting is such an uncertain kind of life. You struggle so much at the beginning of your career – at least I did – and then you suddenly find yourself working all the time and after six or seven years you realize that maybe work and success isn’t everything,” Naomi said.

Stop whining, Naomi! You could have known that beforehand.

    WTF? Says:

So….millions of Americans have that same problem Naomi except they don’t make millions while doing it. On top of that, the “poorer folks’ don’t get to do what they love for a living. They don’t get to take nice vacations to Cabo or Milan. They don’t get to wear designer jewelry and clothes. A lot of them are having trouble keeping their homes and putting food on the table for their families. Seriously, sometimes you need to step back and realize how good you have it. Materialistic things don’t necessarily bring happiness, but have a solid finances can make life a bit less stressful. Am I bitter, hell yeah I am. The amount of $$ she makes for appearances could pay off my student loans.

Naomi has everything: love, children, friends, good relations with her family, beauty, intelligence, money, success,… and I’m sure the list could be longer as it is only the surface.
Lot of people in this world have nothing of that and some will never have all that pretty life she enjoys.
So I don’t understand why she is whining, she can get my life if success isn’t everything in life.

its easy to say that when you make millions per movie
right sweetheart ? if you didnt have nicole kidman that helped you,
you would have worked as a waitress by now .

    FFer Says:

Naomi is not whining. She is just passing along one of the important things in life that she has learned over the years. And she is completely correct; Money is like air. It’s not that big of a deal unless you aren’t getting any.

    Meg Says:

Ok Naomi. If succes isn’t everything and your job is hard, just leave it and look for an ordinary job like all the ordinary people around the world who get a very little money working almost every single day of their life, you could work as a waitress, clerk….everyday in the same place for the rest of your life; maybe that is the happiness that you deserve darling.

It’s embarrassing when celebs speak like that, i would move them out from biz.

OMG, she’s just pointing out that success, indeed, isn’t everything. People in the States are obssessed with the most shallow kind of individuality, including “success” and being self-obsessed to the detriment of society.
She’s a lovely lady; smart and really humble. Love her!

    csa Says:

    I love her!

    karih Says:

I perfectly understood her comment but it’s easy to say “success isn’t everything” when you have everything in life and can do whatever you want because she succeded! She would have not succeded she wouldnt enjoy that life.

    omd Says:

of course she can say that. she doesnt have to work a day in her life and will still be able to live comfortably. btw, i ran into them on an island in thailand – she was totally stuck up and the locals were speaking in thai about how she demanded all these things that weren’t available on the island (it was a national park). however, her husband liev was very nice and i even chatted with him while he was smoking.

    Julie Says:

That’s funny, you’re all the ones complaining – she wasn’t. What she said makes sense to anyone who isn’t an idiot (or a hater). She’s a mother and a wife – she now realizes what life’s really about, and it’s not about becoming rich and famous.

‘WTF’ said : “On top of that, the “poorer folks’ don’t get to do what they love for a living.” which is a load of crap. Poor people can do what they love, including becoming actors/models too, if they have the chops. That’s the benefit to not living in the third world. Stop the hating already – it’s just ugly.

    kit Says:

Easy to say that now. We’d have to see if she would say the same thing if all the success were suddenly taken from her.

    lola Says:

Silly comment for someone in her position to make, but I’m still a fan of hers.

    I love her.
    Down to earth and real.
    Go Naomi.
    I totally understand.
