Taylor Swift Visits 'Les Miserables' Producer in London!

Taylor Swift arrives at the offices of theatre producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh on Monday (January 23) in London, England.

The 22-year-old singer had a meeting with Cameron, who produced the musical Les Miserables. Taylor is reported to be starring as Eponine in the movie musical version of the hit, set to be released in December.

Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, and Aaron Tveit have all accepted roles in the movie. Amanda Seyfried may also be joining the star-studded cast.

Earlier in the day, Taylor was spotted leaving her hotel in a maroon coat.

Taylor recently hit up the 2012 Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of the film Ethel.

FYI: Taylor carried a Rugby Ralph Lauren Pony Hair Saddle Bag.

Why does this loser think she can act! Hopefully the casting agent saw the movie Valentines day and doesn’t cast this pathetic FAMEWHORE!!!!

    Yoki Says:

Only losers would like her… What a wannabe!

    Bootsy Says:

Oh goodness, here comes all the hateful posters. I can’t wait to see what comes of this movie. The producers obviously saw something in Swifty that they didn’t see in any of the other people that tried out. I love her coats and boots. I must find out where she got them.

The hateful posters on this website take life way to seriously. No one knows how this movie will turn out or how Taylor will act. It may turn out to be a superb movie or a flop. Anyways, who cares. By the way I like Taylor’s burgandy coat. I love the fact that she is wearing Burberry.

    I HATE TAYLOR,IS SO UGLY AND BORING.SHE IS BAD IN EVERYTHING.I M NOT JEALOUS,I DON T WANT HER LIFE,BUT I DON T LIKE HER.

    Frustrated Fan Says:

Stunt casting, plain and simple! It doesn’t matter if Taylor Swift can act, she simply does NOT have the pipes, the Broadway caliber voice to pull off a song like On My Own. (Paging Pro Tools!!)
Lea Michele was made for that role, plus she was in the actual show on Broadway as a child. Who is more qualified than her? Is she not available? If not Lea, then Emmy Rossum! Who is in charge of casting this thing? They are right with the other casting choices (jury is out on Amanda Seyfried), poor Taylor, she will be the obvious weak link in this cast and she will get lambasted by the critics and the Broadway community!

@RALUCA,YOU ,RE RIGHT.TAYLOR IS REALLY BAD,IS SO FAKE ,SHE IS A REALLY BAD ACTRESS,THE WORLD SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT.

Taylor swift is a really sweet girl, but she can t act, look at her personality.

    Kathy Says:

Haters, way to judge a performance before it’s actually HAPPENED. Who knows how it’ll turn out? Let’s leave the speculation until after the film comes out, hmm? She might surprise you.

  17. 17
    Kathy Says:

    Love her maroon coat!

  18. 18
    Mary Says:

Her voice isn’t strong enough for the singing parts and she isn’t a very good actress, but she’ll bring in money and that’s all the producers care about. Critics are going to eat her alive and put all of the blame on her if the movie is bad.

  19. 19
    Kalista Says:

Wrong “kathy #16/17 ” ! She has shown us what she can do. I am a fan of this show and she isn’t even close to being able to do it. This is just an obvious attempt for them to go after her fanbase of
    “Robots for Taylor” !

Taylor is “in your face” all the time, 24/7 and we are told how wonderful she is and we are supposed to think something is wrong with us for not liking her?

I am sick of her. If her managers want to do something nice, they will make her take a break from the spotlight for a few years. Like forever.

Lea Michele and Emmy Rossum are great suggestions.

    risa Says:

Taylor would be greatin that role. She is talented & adorable

  21. 21
    sam Says:

She will probably get a voice coach to help her train for the part. Otherwise, I don’t think she can do it. I agree that Lea Michele has the vocal chops to do this part.

    viktor Says:

I love taylor swift, and all her stuff, just lovely!

  23. 23
    speaktruth Says:

I can’t even look at anything to do with this production ever since she became their first choice. Such a bad call. She’s good at entertaining girls and whatnot but not for taking an iconic role like this.

  24. 24
    mel Says:

This movie will bomb. I mean, a week after that , The Hobbit comes out and people will probably want to save their money to see it on 3D so they will skip this movie in favour of The Hobbit

  25. 25
    irene olson Says:

Great play, but I wouldn’t watch a pony show if Taytlor Swift was in it. What a shame for this movie. The girl has no talent — can’t sing, definitely cannot act.

  26. 26
    J Says:

I like Taylor I do and I love her music, but this part is not for her. She just does not have a strong enough voice to pull off this part. For anyone who has ever seen the show and knows this part including the solo “On My Own” know she is the wrong choice. It is the truth.

  27. 27
    jacqueline Says:

Pretty much the entire cast is amazing! Good singers, good actors, there are some Broadway talents there… and then TAYLOR SWIFT? REALLY?!
It’s not that I hate her and think she’s stupid, I just don’t think she’s capable of being a good Eponine.
I really don’t want to see it happening, but if it does, prove me wrong, Taylor.

  28. 28
    lisa Says:

Love the Burberry coats Taylor is wearing. As for the haters they can stay mad. I will wait for the movie before I judge anything.

  29. 29
    lindsey Says:

Ok, for the people that say that Taylor can’t act because you base her performance on Valentine’s Day need to grow up. It was her first movie. If you ever look back at some big time star’s first movie, their acting isn’t that superb. Give the girl a chance. The movie has not been made yet and as I recall Taylor isn’t the only actor that will be in the movie.

  30. 30
    Snowflakes Says:

Haters gonna hate because they have nothing else better to do. I can’t wait to see what will come of this movie. Taylor looks adorable in her Burberry coats.

  31. 31
    PEACH Says:

Please,no longer defended, seen from her personality, she is a very good girl,is not good as an actress.I tell you.

  32. 32
    kiss Says:

I do not give taylor a chance ,because i know it will be disaster.

  33. 33
    Haley Says:

I am very upset by this choice. Been hoping for weeks now that the casting crew would come to their senses and change their minds. It’s my favourite musical but I really don’t think I can sit through it and watch it being destroyed by Taylor Swift. She’s fine at what she does, but to anybody who says she can play this role, you clearly haven’t seen her attempting that version of Tonight at the VMA’s. Dreadful. And even if she could sing and act the role, she simply doesn’t suit this role. Insane.

  34. 34
    Grace Says:

Stupid stupid choice. She can’t sing. She can’t act. She’ll ruin the whole movie.

  35. 35
    TK360 Says:

I have no personal hate towards Taylor Swift so don’t call me a hater, but being a professional singer who has studied with vocal teachers at Juilliard, trained at an acting conservatory in NY and know women who are beyond just talented but also have the vocal range/strength as well as emotional and vocal depth requiered for this character, who auditioned for this role and, I don’t get it. She may be a great entertainer to her fan base but she is not a talented singer or actor. Period. Listen to her sing live and you will know it. People can’t make excuses for every single one of her live recordings. She also was on a episode of one of the CSI’s and wasn’t good on that either.
They’ve been auditioning for almost a year for this project, yes auditioning celebs but also going around to Univ., Conservatories, even had open call auditions and they really couldn’t find anyone that was more suited for this role?! Why does it have to be a “known” person at all? They have enough Named cast members to know people will come see it. The producers shouldn’t sacrifice artistic integrity just to make a few more bucks. But hey, maybe Taylor will surprise us… but I won’t hold my breath…

  36. 36
    Jess Says:

I am so sick of this. Why can’t people just wait until the film comes out and then judge and make opinions? Taylor could surprise you all, and that whole VMA promo she did was 3 YEARS AGO, her voice has changed and improved so much since then. And since we are all sharing here, let me just say, just because you were in the broadway show does not automatically qualify you for the role in the film. I’m sorry but that’s not how life works, especially not in this day and age. Lea Michele, don’t get me wrong she has an incredible voice, but just because she was in the broadway show doesn’t mean she should get the part. This is 2012 and you are in the entertainment industry. You need to fight for the part and earn it. And you can call it whatever you want but obviously Taylor received the offer so she must have done something. Hate on me all you want, but at least wait until the film comes out and you have seen it before you hate on her.

  37. 37
    Christy A Says:

She’s not wanted, can’t they get that through their heads?

We didn’t wait all this time for a Les Miserables movie to have that talent vacuum in it – I’ve been a huge Les Mis fan for years and I’m not paying good money to see Taylor Swift. Not a chance.

  38. 38
    Janie Says:

I just can’t see this working out well. I’ve been a Les Mis fan since I was a kid and have been waiting a long time for this movie. Taylor Swift can not sing well live. Plain and simple. She cannot act, I’ve seen Valentines Day and her CSI episode and there is just not a chance that she will have improved her vocal and acting talent enough in such a short amount of time to be able to pull such a role off.

  39. 39
    Frank M Says:

Well, I’m not going to see the role distroyed. And from what I’ve seen there are a huge amount of people thinking the same thing. They should be making this film for the huge pre existing Les Mis fanbase, not for a load of teeny boppers.

  40. 40
    Josephina Says:

Sorry, just a terrible, terrible choice. Can’t they get that through their heads??!! Just about one of the worst choices they could ever make. To take one of the most loved musical characters there is and pick somebody who can just barely sing AND act is just insanity.

  41. 41
    martha Says:

Whoopsie…. seems “reports” were wrong about her being in Les Mis. Swift lost out, or couldn’t come to terms, whatever… but she’s not playing Eponine. I wonder if she got the news personally when she visited London?

I wonder if the negative reactions had anything to do with it?
