Mindy Kaling‘s new pilot has been picked up by the FOX network, according to THR!
The 32-year-old The Office actress would star in, write, and produce the television show.
Mindy‘s brainchild is about a “young Bridget Jones-type doctor trying to navigate both her personal and professional lives.”
If Mindy‘s pilot earns a full episode order, she would depart The Office to work full time on the new series.
Just days before this announcement, Mindy‘s The Office co-star Rainn Wilson was reportedly offered a spin off series for his character on the hit NBC show.
